I saw a classic case of trying to do real truck work with a pickup today. Sorry I have no picture as they were broke down in the left turn lane at the top of Muck Creek hill on highway 7.
Hood is up on a ford 250, with a heaping load of dirt in a 14K dump trailer. As I blaze by I can see some smoke or steam, and the driver is over off the road to my right on the phone.
Sure enough there is a dark streak in the right lane ascending, could be coolant, could be trans fluid, maybe both. I know for sure it was going to cost way more than hiring a real truck ( I was in the L9000 dump truck :) )

Looks like a Porsche. It looks like the rear is on the bump stops judging by the fender/tire gap. It also looks like the front of the trailer is far too low for best practices.

The rocker panel is level with the ground and the fender gap is the same as the front, the Porsche is not pulling that boat

I once hauled a 28 foot long 30" diameter log in the Power Wagon. I moved very slow. Steering was uncharacteristically light. I feel like the front wheels were barely touching the ground.
He has about 12000 LBS behind his axle. If the frame doesn't fold, it won't handle very well.
The company I work for owns a truck that looks similar from that distance that just happens to be setting at my place at the momentso I sent this to the owner and am still waiting on a response. Told him I borrowed the truck to hual home my new machine

How much does a 310D weigh? He might be OK weight wise but hanging the entire hoe of the back should be good for several fines and traffic violations.

The truck will be alright, they sit like that when you have a big wrecked pickup backwards on the deck and another on the stinger . . . :D If that outfit was like the one I worked for it is the boss hauling his own backhoe . . . lol

My 410C weighed 17700, cab extend a hoe & standard bucket. My Case 580 SuperN weighs around 16000. I'll estimate a 310D is very close to the weight of the 580SuperN.

I'll guess the truck is rated 35000 GVW, I think 19000 payload, but I doubt the payload should be so far back.

See my avatar. That is a 27500 GVW truck & 80% of the 14000 LB dozer is forward of the axle.

I think it would be right at the limit if it was legal. If the tires were filled with liquid would add a couple thousand pounds too.

When I haul my Allis that weighs 8000+ engine and loader to front but loaded tires above trailer axles.
I've never seen a backhoe with loaded tires. Farm tractors it is very common, I'm not sure why they don't load backhoe tires.
All backhoes are very heavy, usually too heavy. Far too much of the weight is on the rear wheels. Makes them less than perfect for snow removal. They get a big counter weight on the front & usually that isn't enough. I find a big rock, mafia block, or a bucket of gravel goes a long way to balance the machine. I often want to drag a log with back bucket, or pick up a boulder with the rear bucket & drive, near impossible without heavy in the front bucket.

The weight wouldnt be a deal if they had a trailer that the neck wasnt trying to brake off. I dont like the straps. I wonder if they made it ? I saw another trailer deal yesterday. It was a small trailer like you haul a mower on . They had some boxes on the front and several bags of soil on the rear . It looked rear heavy.

I kind of noticed the trailer tongue/gooseneck looked odd but the pic. is too black to tell if there's a problem or not.
