BC logging equipment left to rust

Nauticapedia.ca is a great resource for the history of West Coast tug boating and boat history. I can't read the name on the tug to look it up...

That one is a 1978, it was previously MB truck H13.

Pacific trucks in the logging industy

Every time that I see one of the photos of this blue P500F I try to remember where the photos were taken. It was somewhere along a highway south of Banff on our way to Sparwood and Kaslo, I caught a glimpse of the truck, flipped around as quick as possible and pulled into the fellow's yard. A...

    Loaders, Limbers and Roadbuilders.

How popular are Lim-mit units or delimbers of that style these days? It feels as though I haven't seen one in years, but they used to be a common sight. From a quick search online it seems that Brandt Tractor sells or owns the rights to the product line.

Pacific trucks in the logging industy

Thank you for the update CampTramp, when looking at the photo a thought was that it's (was) a '77 but I had nothing to back up that thought. Does Mr. Scott still have the truck or know where it is? It would be awesome to dig up the serial number of this one and build a bit of a history on it.

Pacific trucks in the logging industy

Based on the license plate T6-6XXX I would be pretty confident to say that the photo was taken in 1988, the plate was issued sometime during the 3rd quarter of the year, so anytime between July 1st and December 31st. I don't know which truck this one is specifically but it could be anything from...

Pacific trucks in the logging industy

I was hoping to see a shot of this truck again. Just recently it has shown up again but one would never know it. This truck SN 2028 has been significantly modified and turned into some sort drilling rig and is for sale in Saskatchewan - not my photo, rather one that I grabbed from the sales...

    Any brand log trucks

I believer that the second truck from the left in the second photo is a 1971 P9B SN 500, this one is still around and has recently found a new home and a future restoration. Skadill, any other information on the trucks or the auction which that photo came from?

    Any brand log trucks

Not sure if the Hayes management was upset about the loss of the initial Pacific employees, I would imagine there were some sore people for a few days. I haven't ever heard any details or reasons behind the parting of ways. On the Pacific side those who came up with the early Pacific model...

    Any brand log trucks

I think that these two ended up in the Prince George area during the 90's (looks like they could be in an auction in the photo judging by the background). Up until a last year one of the two, if they were in fact the same trucks could be seen with a dump box and the other in the owner's yard...

    Any brand log trucks

The good news is that particular truck is sitting in a shop undergoing a restoration. I was once told years ago that it is one of the first P500S models built but I've never thought to look into it until now...

Kim, do you by any chance know the serial number of the wrecked P500?
