    CAT 320C burst hose and fire

    Well over 10 years back I helped a bit with a rebuild on a ZX850 Hitachi. Everything from the rotec up was burnt. Only the undercarriage, main frame and boom/stick were reused. Entire machine was rebuilt from the rotec up. Massive job, I think I have pictures of it somewhere.

    289 C2 Cat Injection pump question

    I've seen that solenoid fail before a few times. Sometimes it will start and run like crap, other times it won't start at all. A logical place to start IMO.

    I worked with a guy who did the opposite. Aviation to Heavy Duty. He said the pay in aviation sucks if you're doing maintenance for one of the larger airlines. The money was in the private fleets with the smaller planes.

    Serial # would be a great start. Could be several different e70b models out there. Hopefully this isn't a Gray Market machine because that'll usually make things complicated.

    TL130 floating seal

    That floating seal only seals in the gear oil between the rotating and stationary parts of the final. The gear oil will always be exposed to the motor shaft and seal. Never seen a Tak final apart before but every final drive I've ever encountered has been that way. I doubt the wear material...

    Got plenty of mountain top views from the passenger seat of a logging truck too. I've said it before but the only way you'd probably ever get me into the driver's seat is if its a logging truck or a lowbed/hiboy The idea of pulling a van or a tanker OTR has next to zero appeal to me.

If you show an aptitude for the trade and you're reliable then the employer will gradually start giving you small jobs to do. They'll eventually register you as an apprentice and...

    I might have to look into that. I need a new air hammer as well, wonder if they make one? I priced out a new Aircat 3/8" impact and a new Mac 3/8". Same 700 ft-lb rating and the Aircat was almost 1/2 the price....... I hate to say it but the big tool companies are going to price themselves out...

    You're missing out. Barriere and north to Valemount is amazing. I used to sled up around Avola and the mountaintop views are absolutely incredible.

    Its a beautiful area but I had to get out of there. Just very little opportunity for anyone who wants to make something of themselves. 24 is interesting, there's passing areas for passing all the trucks going slow down the hill. Can't say I've seen that on any other road in BC.
