Case 450C, mixing old and new bottom rollers

I'd put the new roller on and run it personally. FYI be very careful loosening the bottom roller bolts. As careful as you can possibly be. Clean the area where the bolt goes through the frame and soak in penetrating oil from above if you can. I would consider heating them if they don't spin...

Smoking Skyjack SJ86T 2015 with 2.9l L4 Deutz Water Cooled

Turbo intake hose. You can see crankcase vent tube location at about 1100 in the picture.

Smoking Skyjack SJ86T 2015 with 2.9l L4 Deutz Water Cooled

Reply to Zewnten & funwithfuel. Thanks for the help. Oil on inlet and outlet of turbo. I do know there was quite a bit of oil coming from the crankcase vent directly into the turbo inlet tube. Like I said before the vane in the turbo was VERY loose and rubbing on the housing. Did not...

Smoking Skyjack SJ86T 2015 with 2.9l L4 Deutz Water Cooled

No problem. Thanks for the advice. I don't understand how the bad turbo (impeller moves easy side to side with your finger) can cause the blowby issue I see but the mechanic said we know the turbo is bad so let's correct that and go from there. I do agree with that.

Smoking Skyjack SJ86T 2015 with 2.9l L4 Deutz Water Cooled

Actually no charge air cooler on this unit. To check the reed valves I would remove the electrical EGR valve itself from the EGR manifold (not sure if that's the correct term)? Can I get to it that way? Maybe a good idea to take the EGR valve out and check/clean it anyway. Thanks

Smoking Skyjack SJ86T 2015 with 2.9l L4 Deutz Water Cooled

Thanks Zewnten. Mechanic friend who has worked on some of these checked the turbo this morning. We had not done that yet. Impeller is super loose and been rubbing on the sides of the housing. :-( He said lets get a turbo on it and go from there. We will also change the inner and outer air...

Smoking Skyjack SJ86T 2015 with 2.9l L4 Deutz Water Cooled

Slight error in judgement but bought this big (86ft) boom lift and here we are. Knew it smoked when running but not enough to concern me too much at the time. Engine runs well with no missing. Upon operating for longer times the smoke is heavier and now concerned about it. It has the Deutz...

Deere 120C Main Boom Pin to Frame Question

I filled out the form on the nord lock website and someone contacted me by email. Then he called me on the phone and we discussed my application and my measurements to be sure it would work. I'm still waiting on my pin to be built and shipped. Should be here the end of this month. I don't...

Deere 120C Main Boom Pin to Frame Question

Followup. After much discussion and back and forth I've decided to use Nord-Lock's expander pin. This seems like the best and most cost efficient solution for me. There were just a LOT of logistical/cost issues with line boring I won't "bore" everyone with details about. FYI the tech at...

I hate that I missed your posts before. Thanks for linking that. I will let the group know how mine progresses.

Deere 120C Main Boom Pin to Frame Question

Thanks. I looked at that and assume that's what this would be. I finally found something that indicated there was some tolerance for "out of round" and I may be within that.

Deere 120C Main Boom Pin to Frame Question

My 120C has visible slack where the boom mounts to the frame. I can see it moving out the window so wanted to address it before the pin wore through the bushing. Upon removal the bushings and pin are basically fine but where the pin contacts the main frame is worn oblong. :-( I wasn't...

    Troubleshooting D5K2 gauge cluster

Paul T, any update? My D6K woke up with the same symptoms the other day.
