A new High Drive dozer maker!

BTW. I find it strange when I read the press release description of the machine, that they don´t mention one word abut it having a high drive configuration. Or suspended roller boogies. As if that´s some hush hush issue for them...... Maybe to disguise the fact that the track roller frames...

A new High Drive dozer maker!

Until recently the bigger John Deere dozers were just rebadged Liebherr. I think the same goes for the track loaders. The latest big Deere dozers LOOK like they´re all Deere made, but question is weather the drive train is still Liebherr.

A new High Drive dozer maker!

Question is whether operator comfort is all that better on a machine like that. For me a part of operator comfort is feeling the machine and hearing the engine rev u p or down. On a machine like that the engine would be running at a fairly constant speed, making operation - well - boring.... But...

Liebherr has obviously joined the high drive club with this this new machine, obviously a D10 contender w, hydrostatic drive. Does any of you guys have any experience with the bigger Liebherrs?

My Grandfather Skidding Logs in 1957 With D7 Cat

That must have been in 1967 rather than 1957 my friend, these D7Es didn´t come out until the early sixties

    Stretch D8's in Antarctica

I get very curious when I see these pictures about the engine: was it the original Cat D8 engine, maybe with a turbo added or was it a newer Cat engine? And is it the only dozer model that was ever stretched like this? And what about steering/transmission?

    Rare D8

To Greenland with an open cab??? Not only is it extremely rocky there, but also artic temperatures. So this machine going to Greenland is extremely unlikely as it is equipped in this picture. The swamp tracks make a lot of sense for snow though

    The Ultimate Loader??

Without having any particular suggestions myself I've just read a very interesting article about the latest Cat 966k XE. http://www.uk.cat.com/cda/files/3467460/7/AEXQ0696-00.pdf. What I think is particularly interesting is the transmission which is continuously variable and energy saving by...

    International/Rolls Royce combo?

Massive dozer? CATlover, I live in Iceland and I think I know what machine you are talking about. There´s an old BTD20 sitting on the beach in southern Iceland, down on a rocky shore. So it´s not more massive than being an 18 ton tractor. But it´s rusty and abandoned and the last thing...

    Old Bucyrus Erie crane

Thanks a lot Dozerbill63. I just found these pictures http://www.lislesurplus.com/B/Bucyrus-erie-model-11-b-truck-mounted-crane-10-ton/

Do you doze in first or second?

It seems that most dozer videos feature operators dozing in second gear (or at least trying to). It often seems that they have a hard time controlling the blade, making an even grade. And very often the load seems too heavy for high speed, the machine slowing more down than it would in first...

    Old Bucyrus Erie crane

Yes this seems to be a rare model, I have been doing several searches on Google and not finding anything yet that looks like it. I think they bought it brand new in 1964. I recall the owner wasn´t very satisfied with it and replaced it with a P&H of similar size

    Old Bucyrus Erie crane

I think this was a 15 ton model and yes, it was manual control and manual outriggers. This time I was able to upload a slightly larger picture...

    Old Bucyrus Erie crane

Hello These pics are from 1967 from a concrete pouring job in my old hometown. I would like to know if anybody out there could tell which Bucyrus Erie model this is. I´m unable to see any model tags on the crane and have not been able to find a similar model on the net. Btw the concrete...
