    I got the solenoid off today and cleaned up the contact plate. I also rotated it 180 degrees. I cleaned off the contacts as well, but that was after I took the following pictures.     I took these two pictures of the starter today while I was with the machine. I also ordered the following replacement solenoid. I'm really hoping the starter is still good. As a long shot, I'm going to try to remove the solenoid tomorrow and see if I can disassemble it and clean the contacts.

    I am planning on taking this fuel pump off and taking it to a local diesel shop for repair. In the meantime, I need to get this starter fixed. It just clicks once and won't turn over. In your opinion should I just replace the entire starter or try to find a solenoid that will work?
