    Overload of the Day

I'm surprised no front fenders/open tires is legal. Around here the rock throwing tires would tend to sandblast/destroy the sides of the truck.

    #3406C low power

Complete air intake system check, from inlet to turbo. Physically check entire system for obstructions. Why was injection pump rebuilt?

    Just some work pics

Duals tied together. Cats eyes shut off at 60#, iirc. Its 6 of one, half dozen of the other. My trailers are almost all occasional use, 10 months setting, 2 months working hard/long with occasional neglected maintenance.

    Overload of the Day

There are always unintended consequences. Many political jurisdictions saw the 55 mph speed limit as a way to enhance revenue. Then law enforcement allowed their political masters to make revenue collection their main task. Now the next generation of law enforcement wonders why they are...

    Just some work pics

Be interested to see what your thoughts are on the tire pressure monitoring system. I've got a couple of trailers I put Cats Eyes on and I like them, but you still have to look at them. Two trailers have the onboard inflation system. That system is cheap on a new trailer but I don't think I...

    Pto question time

Some transmissions take the pto off the input side, others off the output side. Sometimes when off the output side there is a disconnect at the rear of the transmission to allow the engine rpm to be increased without the vehicle moving. You are going to tell us more about your setup.

Chrome shaft pitting repair back yard

The epoxies for wear surfaces are made with very hard fillers, typically ceramic. You would not want that in any hydraulic system.

This will be an interesting thread moving forward......

When I see a disaster like that I think of calling the foreman and telling him the situation. Then ask him to send over the fellow on the top of his $hit list.

    Has anyone else heard this?

Thats what they were, C10 Chevys with a small block V8. I wouldn't have thought of shifting the engine forward.

    Has anyone else heard this?

I have had a couple of pickups where I rewelded the teeth on the flywheel with an acetylene torch while still in the truck. It's just a couple of teeth. 10 minutes and it starts again. The price of a new flex plate was more than the value of the truck not even counting installation.

Owner of some Heavy Equipment passed away

If it was local I'd recommend either Big Iron or Purple Wave. You can check, I don't know if either one of them go that far east. You might have a similar auction service closer. Either one of these houses catalogues, advertises, hosts the auction, and handles all the money. They both get...

    3406E, looking at one, comments?

I looked at a '96 FLD120 today. 3406, 5EK. It has seen little use for last 7 years, clock shows 420K, overall condition looks like could be correct. Engine started good and sounded good from the start. No smoke on snap throttle. I took it for a drive, rolls coal hard for a short bit on...
