Cylinder rebuilt in shop in 2023 had rod nut back off during use.

I am not going to name or shame the shop because I am hopeful they will work this out. It should not happen. Mfg torque spec 2000 ft lbs + Loctite. No evidence of loctite. I highly doubt torque spec was met. Komatsu WB140-2 arm cylinder. Nut clearly backed off until two threads were remaining...

    Komatsu wb140 outriggers

Looking for both the left and right horizontal outrigger cylinders in functional condition. My machine has them I just don't have time to rebuild them right now. Left side is leaking badly. Right side drops fast like maybe to the ground over 15-30 minutes of less while machine is running. I...

    4wd Carraro Komatsu WB140 question

This is the same transmission drive train in popular Case 580 line. Anyway my machine is a 2000 WB140-2 Komatsu. My question / concern regards 4wd. When 4WD is engaged and I am traveling across my property there is a violent lurching or uneven drive in my machine. You can see it looking at...

    Efficiently Breaking/Processing Boulders

I have been clearing a building site in CT. I own a large backhoe. I suppose I could get hammer for the backhoe but I don't think I would use it that often. Anyway I have accumulated a pile of boulders about 40 feet long x 12 feet wide x 6 feet tall from clearing maybe 0.25 acres. The rock is...

    Electrical issues: Komatsu WB140 S/N F1000 range

I had my backhoe sitting for several months last summer. Apparently mice got in the cab and under the hood and chewed the wiring harness / individual wires. I spliced and patched all the chewed sections I could find in the dash, side console, anf under the hood. However I am still getting blown...

    Komatsu Backhoe Parts Needed

First off Google search sucks these days. Can't find anything. I am looking for a tilt or dump cylinder for a 2000 era Komatsu WB140-2 for front bucket. Leaking bad. Maybe rod is damaged. I don't know. I could repack but I am looking to minimize down time. so looking for drop in replacement...

Hydraulic noise when idling for a while and not operating work equipment

I have a 2000 Komatsu WB140. It works well...very strong. some hydraulic cylinders will need repacking and some hoses will need to be replaced but I consider this wear and tear for the machine. It has a 24" digging bucket. I can move rocks 4 - 6 times the volume of the bucket by carefully...

Why are there no teeth of front bucket on most backhoes?

My backhoe with 4 in 1 bucket does have replaceable teeth on its cutting edge but I noticed most backhoes do not. Why? It seems having teeth would usually be an advantage trying to load from a compacted or rocky pile or dig from loader bucket.

One stop spot for older komatsu backhoe parts?

I bought a WB140-2 this summer. Does anyone know a source that stocks a full range of early 2000 Komatsu backhoe parts? looking online it seems hard to find spare parts for this model. Does anyone know how many were sold in the USA? I need a tilt cylinder seal kit, outrigger seal kit, and...
