    Case vertical air cleaner

When you say "bottom mesh screen", do you mean the one in the photo or should there also be one in the oil bath? I have the whole unit out and was sitting in the parts washer overnight but the screen in the photo is still quite dirty.

    Case vertical air cleaner

OK, I am now in reassembly mode and trying to clean my air cleaner. I got the interior intake tube clean ( it was filthy) and got the bottom oil pan clean. But I don't see a way to disassemble the main body to clean it. The mesh screen rotates but is still dirty. Is there some trick I need...

sloppy 6 way blade, Case 450

While I am replacing valves and head gasket, I am also resealing the angle cylinders on my 6 way blade. The guide plates are very worn but I can fix that. The diagrams show a circular feature on the blade: What is the mating feature on the Leveling Beam and how much play is allowed between...

I almost have the head off my old dozer but although I took 3 bolts out of the water pump/gear case housing cannot get it loose. Reading the shop manual, I see I must remove the water pump. There must be some additional bolts behind the pump? Can I get this out without removing the...

excessive oil consumption in old Case 450

I've got tracks pads back on, changed trans and engine oil and filters and seems to be working fine on my new to me 1965 Case - unknown # of hours. And I have solved the areas mosquito problem with the 2 qt/ hour oil consumption. There is little blow-by coming from the crankcase ventilation...

    Case 450 dozer brakes

Now that I think I have my sprockets and chains addressed, I am looking at my brakes ( completely non-functioning). The pedals move but the master cylinders are completely shot and the slave cylinder on the right side is missing. Currently soaking everything with PB Blaster. The parking brake...

    New Case 450 Dozer owner

Hello, I recently acquired a 1965 Case 450 (no letter) dozer w 6 way blade for only $0.21/ lb! It is mostly worn out but should be just what I need to do some grading and enhance my 1/4 mile "road" down to the river. No hours showing on the meter but starts right up, smokes something fierce...

    Case 450 Dozer

Coy, thanks so much for the lead. I will check tomorrow as the pics look a little different than what I have. Thanks Tinkerer, I did manage to download the complete manual and then got the CD. Just finished putting on a new sprocket and chain so brakes are next on my list.

    Case 450 Dozer

Following, I am a new 1965 450 ( no letter) dozer owner with non operating brakes and when I traced the lines, I see they go to the hydraulic block and now I know there is a "declutch piston". So am I correct that pressing on the brake cuts out the feed to the drive? I am also missing one...
