Dead 246b CAT Skid - Freewheel?

It's out in a grass field of course, I hooked three pickups together and they still couldn't get enough traction to drag it! Going to try a couple of tractors on Saturday - wish me luck.

Dead 246b CAT Skid - Freewheel?

Crap - that's what I was afraid of. The service manual shows how to remove the drive chains but it looks like a real bear.

Dead 246b CAT Skid - Freewheel?

Good afternoon - I've searched around a bit and found a few videos and such but nothing specifically for a CAT wheeled skid. The gear that connects the engine to the hydraulic pump has slipped out and so the engine runs, but I get no power to any hydraulics. Therefore the wheels won't move...

Cat 226b thumb wheel switch replacement

For my 'fix' it didn't seem to matter which orientation I put the magnet. As long as either of the +/- ends of the bar magnet would sweep radially through the hall sensor, it worked. I presume that the original round/doughnut magnet has it's poles oriented on its hemispheres rather than its...

    cat 267B Joystick

I ended up printing about 4 iterations of it before I got it just right. There are some online 3D print shops that will ship you your part next day if you're willing to be patient . Good luck to you!

    cat 267B Joystick

Yeah, the slot at the bottom was designed for a magnet I found - you may need to resize it for whatever magnet you find. It works best with a small bar magnet that has a north and a south pole on each end.

    cat 267B Joystick

My springs were as rusted as the magnet was. I replaced the springs with a spring out of a pen - one of the click style. I had to try a few pens before I found one that was just right - I cut the pen spring in half and used each half on each end of the roller. The 3D print has a couple of...
