Where are the Euclids?
Here is a Euclid history..... http://tractors.wikia.com/wiki/Euclid Note that Euclid only built haul rigs until GM bought the company in 1954. Most Euclid engineering was done after GM, loaders , dozers etc..... Euclid never had the cash.- Trakwork

Stumping with a ripper
depends on tree sizes, you need the weight of the machine more than anything. Rippers are good at breaking root support but better to have the longest shank a D5 can get , I don't know Cat ripper sizes. I break up the roots and get the tree swaying then one strong push and over they go... -

Track bolts
Well I've worked my 8250 110,000 lb, and 8240 80,000 lb dozers that way and never had a problem, but then again i've not worked rock piles. -

Track bolts
On track bolts I keep it simple... using 3/4 drive sockets and a 4' cheater bar.. easy. Grousers are easier to weld off the chain. -

Ever see a big Bobcat dozer?
Machine is shown working soft dry material. Bet this thing slides on wet frosty ground . No way this wheeled dozer can do what a tracked dozer can. Besides eight tires replaced is no savings over grouser bars, sprockets and pins turned. -

Land Clearing
I have tried using track loaders , excavators but the dozer works best. Bigger the better. Push the trees over , cut off the stumps, dig a pit and burn. I cut the trees into 32' and 16 ft logs.
