I did not prelube turbo, maybe should’ve but didn’t think about it. After I fired it yesterday I felt the turbo and it is still unbelievably tight. How would you prelube a crank? I’m sure turbo parts are available, they mad thousands of 6v71ts. Just a matter of whether or not it’s actually bad... -

Today I went back and replaced the fuel, bled the system out good and fired it up again. It missed for a while but with a few sniffs of ether it kind of came to life. I shut it off and looked and look at the oil coming out the turbo….. can I run it like this or is it bad turbo seals or blower... -

Cat D6D Front Idler Part Numbers
I have a Liebherr 731c that has a cat D6D (?) undercarriage on it and I need the shaft and bushings for the front idler. Can anyone identify these? Looks close to 5m005 and 2P8048 to me. But there look to be a few variations on the bushing. Thanks! -

I moved a 731c which I thought was dead and the only way I saw forward was taking out the shaft that spins the bull gear. I think you have to jack the cab up and take it out from the inside. I think I got it... the slip rings and brushes were dirty yes, for some reason one brush had like 1 ohm across it when it is supposed to be 0 so I replaced those. It was a bunch of little things but ultimately what did it was the 12V charging circuit. Someone tipped me that the field in the... -

We are putting a new undercarriage on a Liebherr PR731CL and the supports for the front idlers are worn pretty bad. Thinking of just cutting off the existing shim or wear plate , veeing out the steel and welding on a 3/8 or whatever we need thick plate of AR400 or AR500. What do people like to...
