    Driveline Disconnect

So it's an intergraded part of the transmission? Do you know what brands, models, or what make of transmissions had this? This guy though they had stand alone units the were divorced from the trans. Maybe different brands had it different ways? I don't know, I'm looking to learn more about them.

    Driveline Disconnect

The guy I was talking to is 89 years old so maybe it was a 70s or 80s thing. I was surfing around some more and I think it might be on the articulated dump trucks to disengage the front axle for road gear. But I can't find any pictures of one to see how they go together.

    Driveline Disconnect

I was talking to a guy today and he told me that some haul truck have a driveline disconnect for when they are going to go road speed. I'm looking for some information, pictures, dimensions, and where to buy these. He said its a stand alone unit. Now I have never been around a haul truck so I...

    Ducting Air Compressor To Outside

I was just thinking I might get condensation from temp differences. Like sucking -10 degree air into the compressor, that compresses it, and pumps it into a 70 degree wet tank? From the wet tank it goes though an air drier that is rated well above our compressor output and into a dry tank. I'm...

    Ducting Air Compressor To Outside

I've thought of this exact thing to utilize the extra heat in the winter! These shops are only a few years old and we are still trying to get everything dialed in. But even in the winter when its really cold, if you have the compressor running most of the day that bay can get into the high 80's...

    Ducting Air Compressor To Outside

I have a 50HP Ingersoll Rand screw compressor. Currently it is sitting in the corner of one bay of the shop. When it is running it gets up to 85 in there in the winter (when its 0 or colder outside) so we have to open the big door to cool the place down, and in the summer it gets well into the...

    M100 gun problems

I'm not familiar with that gun, but we've had similar issues with Bernard guns on Miller welders and it was the mig neck insulator on the gun end, so like you said a short.

    Oxy-propane rosebud torch

We switched out our Acetylene for Propylene. Propylene is cheaper then Acetylene per bottle right now, but you also only use 1 bottle of Propylene to 4 or 5 bottles of Acetylene. We've cut up to 2 1/2" plate with the Propylene and its amazing, it leave a little bit of slag like a plasma would do...

How do combine operators know when to unload - from within their cab?

Side view mirrors look directly at the windows in the hopper extensions and you get a really good idea. Once the window is full you better be swinging your auger out. And the guys that have years and years under there belt can tell how full at the max on how the combine is handling with body...

    Suggestions for a plasma table

I had a 5'x10' down draft table which was my first plasma table. It was used and worked ok, but you needed the entire deck covered or the fan doesn't do jack. When we were cutting smaller sheets we would cover the rest of the deck with carboard. We traded it off on a larger 6'x12' water table...

Running Plasma Cutter on Miller Trailblazer

I have an old Hobart 10,000 watt welder/generator that has about 3000 hrs on it and has had a pretty hard life. I use that to run a Hobart 45 amp plasma. I built an adaptor for the plug in. You just need to 2 hot wires and the ground wired in, don't worry about the 4th wire.

What's the easiest way to remove plug welds?

Lots of ways to get the job done and it looks like you did a great job. If the back side was clear and accessible, I would have torched out the plugs and then made sure the new plug hole were in a slightly different location. Then plug welded inside and out. Annular cutters are great but I have...

    Recommend me a welder

I have been running a Miller 251 since 2009 and it has been a great welder, I've run pallets of wire through it and have only had to change the rollers once and I'm on the 3rd gun. We got Miller 252 welders in my welding shop in 2017 and they are also great welders. I upgraded to Miller 255...

    C18 CAT 12V Lift Pump

Fill ports are at the same level. I am planning on returning to one tank with large crossover lines down low at the "suction" level, but to only be feeding from one tank. My thoughts are using the large tanks as also a fuel cooler. So return in the farthest tank and feed from the closest tank...

    C18 CAT 12V Lift Pump

The engine serial number is N8F01940. We are configuring our operating system to be 12V, but maybe the underlying engine system will be 24V if needed. Thanks for the input

Bobcat V519 Joy Stick Dead Spots

I'm pretty sure this is an electric joystick with no linkages. I haven't taken the console apart to know 100% but it looks like your typical multifunction joystick.

    C18 CAT 12V Lift Pump

We are building a 750hp scraper tractor and we are using a Tier4 C18. This tractor has 3 different fuel tank due to space constrictions, and I'm looking for ideas on the best most reliable way to plumb the fuel system.

    C18 CAT 12V Lift Pump

What kind of 12v lift pumps are being run on equipment running C18 CAT engines? Any specs on the pumps? Line sizes, GPM, pressures, etc?

Bobcat V519 Joy Stick Dead Spots

I have a 2018 Bobcat V519 telehandler. I have had this telehandler since new and I love it. The last few weeks we have noticed that you can not feather the forks up and down like you use to. You push on the lever and by the time it engages it drops quicker then normal. I've put many hours on...
