    hard surfaceing ripper points

I used to look after a D475A ripping in a hard clay (shale/granent type of material) we used to run D11 SS rippers x3 in the rear of her.. some sections were very hard while others were soft but the whole lot was quite abrasive, the ARM ones would snap in the harder ground like the guys have...

    Air in hydraulic oil

the nut will be FT (f&^%Kn tight) but if you want a quick fix just pull the head and rod out and change the piston seals you will need a ram bed to remove the cylinder piston (nut) from the rod correctly.. one good thing about Komatsu gear is they have a ring of bolts holding the piston head...

    Caterpillar 3412 HEUI injectors

I've heard that a can of aerostart was the weapon of choice for the cost savy maintenance

    Air in hydraulic oil

as TIO and HATCHEQUIP mentioned with what your describing I would think the ram seals are bypassing internally causing aeration of the oil (which would cause the pump noise), when the cylinders start to play up check the temp of them, if they are hot to touch you should look at a leak test if...

BELAZ 450 ton dump truck specifications released along with a model of the truck!!!

I'm no engineer or mining fleet analyst but I would have thought the large tare weight of this thing (extra fuel and tyre usage) would kill any production gains with the extra payload??

    Caterpillar 631G cab floor height

biggest trouble with all the engineering controls is you take away the need for people to think because they try and make everything 100% safe (impossible) so as time goes on you end up having a fleet of trained monkeys.. yes sir - no sir - can't think for myself sir - which makes me think of a...

oil into antifreeze, no anti freeze into oil cat 3306 engine

are you sure there isn't a hyd/trans cooler as part of the Rad or an water to oil cooler mounted near the trans? 9 times outta 10 it's a cooler putting oil into the coolant, the other 1 it'll be tipped in there my mistake :) from what I've seen coolant will find its way into the oil if...

    The most complicated machine

I've worked on a heap of earthmoving gear but recently been exposed to some Rail gear.. particularly one of these things, a ballast Tamper http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I-dygdwNzU The amount of electronics and hydraulics are up there as well as the calabration required as it will...

    Re-Coil Spring, Need to replace

second that post from toddcat955L never underestimate the force of a retained spring.. if the springs are getting replaced safest way is the cut one, two or four coils to realise all the tension.. give it a hit with a hammer to make sure its loose before undoing the nut

    cat scraper tractor-sheeps foot roller

I've seen one similar to the above however it was based on a smaller 613(C) scraper, it did look more line a home build one though.. it still had all four wheels but the bowl was removed and had a grid roller wheel in place of the bowl (not a padfoot)

Building a road grader in LEGO Technic

in operation of the machine, once the main pin is released (with the blade grounded) the circle side shift cylinder as well as the x2 lift cylinders are used in combination to rotate the offset linkbar (thingo?) around to line up another hole.. kinda have to use the x3 functions at once with...

    980c steering hydraulics issue

if you look on the front output shaft of the drop box it will be mounted up to the idler gear (if it's fitted) as its driven from the driveshaft speed (works while your rolling with no engine power)
