Hoarding isn't always a bad thing
Had a truck with a C-15 come in day before yesterday pushing coolant out under a hard pull, got the head off and the head gasket was going in two places. Got a gasket kit this morning and sled gauged the liners, they were consistent at +.003... not enough for a 525HP engine. Oh, look... I saved... -

RTO 15715 doing wierd stuff
A month back I put a rebuilt 15715 in a truck, 1400 miles later it seems like it wants to float the range clutch into neutral when its cruising easy, no problem with a hard pull, or with the jake on hard. just easy floating. The regulator is only putting out 47PSI, would that be the cause... -

The Energizer Bunny
This old girl just rolled 1.6 million miles. I've been the care taker since 2006. See it about twice a month for PM, last week we did all 4 rear brakes and hubs. New camshafts,bushings,slacks, the full meal deal. Amazing that for a 1996 it's still a primary tractor on the road everyday. -

A Cat driving me nuts
3406B 7FB series cam into the shop yesterday leaking fuel around the #3 injector pump, nobiggy do a bonnet seal ring... still leaking... rats maybe I screwed up the oring… Install another... Now its worse and nothing was wrong with the first, no nicks or cuts from threads on the bushing. Maybe... -

Big Cam Cummins high oil pressure
Got a '94 BC 400 with STC dropped in my lap running like crap, pulled the valve covers and all three of the STC internal manifolds had at least one tube "blown out" of the injector adaptor. When you start the engine cold it pumps about 100 psi at 1000 rpm for 7-8 minutes and drops to normal as... -

I've been looking for a new work truck to replace my tired old '98 Chevy K3500 6.5 diesel. It's been a great truck, but 220K is starting to show it's age. Found an '03 F350 4x4 with only 108K on it, truck looks good but I hear good and bad about the 6.0 engine... Opinions? Honest experience... -

Ford V-10 life estimate

A customer has a D-5H and is complaining of weak pushing, He has a service manual on the way. Just thought I'd get some barnstorming ideas til it gets here. Charge valve or something along that line? Obviously the first thing I will do is check the suction screen and filter and go from there. -
