Komatsu Intelligent Machine Control - user reviews

The Cat D6T with the integrated system on it should be available now through the dealer. It will be labeled as a "Grade Control" machine. Im sure the GPS system is an add on. From what I have heard, the D6N will be out next spring sometime. Haven't heard anything on the smaller machines...

Komatsu Intelligent Machine Control - user reviews

Try out the Cat D6T with integrated system if that's what you are looking for. It has 2 GPS antennas on the roof compared to the 1 on the Komatsu machines. This is to help maintain accuracy on slopes and in turning situations. Or an add on GPS system, like Trimble GCS900/Accugrade. Then you...

    Operating Question Trimble GCS900 / CB430 on D6R

Just saw this and am glad you were able to find it. Good job not being afraid to dig into the box and find some things

Spectra GL422 purchase yes or no?

I would look at the Spectra GL622. Still a dual slope laser, just more user friendly and a better built laser in my opinion. And they are pretty close on price.

    Operating Question Trimble GCS900 / CB430 on D6R

Look for a menu item Guidance Method. In side at the botom of the screen there should be " Adjust cut to avoid overcut " Yes With the arrows, change that yes to NO and it will allow you to overcut into your design to achieve what you want. Just don't forget to change it back to YES...

    Gps & dual slope lasers

This is totally going to be determined by the size and how complex the site is. On a residential lot, you can probably get by with a dual slope laser and a LR50/60 receiver on the machine (Indicate only- No automatics) On a bigger site, a more complex design, GPS would probably better suit...

    Machine Control

You can do what was stated above, to an extent. If it is a basic layout, you can do it with the machine or rover. If it is a complex design, your best bet is going to be to get a model built of the proposed plans. What you can do with the machine is pretty basic stuff. A flat pad at an known...

Help building a machine receiver mast?

I would look at the Spectra LR50W. We also have a mount that has a wide base and has an adjustable pole that you can change the angle to keep it plumb. Build a mount on your grader and dozer, then it's just a matter of removing 4 bolts to put it on the other machine. And like Shimmy said, the...

    GL422 calibration

The reason Spectra wants you to bring it in to a dealer for service is because they have certified techs that do these calibrations/repairs and stand behind their work. I understand that it being 2 hours away is an issue. We use our local Cat dealer to transfer items to and from different...

WTB! : Looking for some sort of autograde for my D5M XL

if you are just looking for a 2D indicate only solution right now, one or two LR50's would get you going. If you want to run automatics, the machine would have to wired up again. It's all about what you want to do and how deep in your pockets you want to get

WTB! : Looking for some sort of autograde for my D5M XL

Was it any wiring/cables left on the machine anywhere?

WTB! : Looking for some sort of autograde for my D5M XL

I'm pretty sure it had a Trimble Site Vision system on it. It's a pretty outdated system now, but there are some people that are still using it.

WTB! : Looking for some sort of autograde for my D5M XL

Really depends on the type of work you are doing, and how much you are wanting to spend. A laser system may work well for you. It also depends on what may have been on it before. If it's still wired up for a system, you might benefit from renting a system when you need it.

    Laser Purchase Help

I would suggest a Spectra GL622 and a Spectra LR60W. The GL622 is a great dual slope laser that does slope matching and the LR60W comes with a remote display so you wouldn't have to break your neck trying to see the receiver no matter what you are using it on

Help grading curb grade with trimble cb460

You can go into your menu, go under guidance method and turn "adjust to avoid overcut" to NO and it will allow you to cut into the design where the curb is. Just remember to turn it back to YES when you are done to prevent over cutting where you would not need to

    2d excavator grade control systems

Trimble offers the GCS Flex system that works really well. And it can be upgraded to 3D if you ever decide to go that route

    Machine Control

I do installation, on site training with customers and troubleshooting. I worked for a contractor for quite a few years before starting this. We used machine control (Trimble Site Vision), so I had been around GPS for some time but I am still learning as I go. Luckily, I work with a guy that is...
