    580k no start

Hi folks, need a little help here. I can start backhoe if I apply 12v direct to the starter solenoid. But if I try to use the key it will not start. The shuttle shifter is in neutral. I assume current goes from the ignition switch to the neutral shuttle shift lever then on to the starter. Where...

case 580k brakes - oil sender

Update: Got the inspection plate off, half of it, the half closest to the seat. The fasteners were so rusted they had to be drilled out afraid to drill near the cab glass. Cut the plate across the access hole for the tranny level stick. I'm a farmer, getter done. Well the bleed screws were so...

case 580k brakes - oil sender

Col. Mine is a 1990with the powershift tranny so the sender must be in a different place Thanks anyhow. On the brake bleed I found out from another forum that an inspection plate must be removed in the cab behind the seat. Working away at it now, rusted fasteners are making it hell. Under the...

case 580k brakes - oil sender

Hi all: A couple of questions: How do you bleed the brakes. I have the Powershift tranny and the PO put brake fluid in the brake system, should be case tran oil. Want to bleed to change fluid. I do not know where the brake cylinder bleeders are. Last question: On the dash is a gauge that does...

    580k engine heater location

Does it matter which frost plug you take out for the engine heater? Front or rear, is one better? Thoughts welcome.

    belarus 825

I have had lots of Belarus over the years. Welcome to the land of troubles. Oh, not really , but they do take getting used to. To make these controls more user friendly I welded extensions on to the levers.

    580k engine heater

Block heater it is. Does it matter which frost plug you put it in? It has two on that side one near the starter the other forward. Compression must be half decent at 4100 hrs, it starts at around or slightly below freezing, cranks a bit. I was worried it would not push snow with 2wd but with...

    580k engine heater

Well its cold again! Anyone out there installed an engine heater in the hose that returns coolant from the heater to the water pump. Would be a lot simpler than doing the frost plug install and give more heat. 1500 watts vs 750.. Cheaper too. Pushin' snow again.

    Titan weld on thumb install.

575 Been super busy of late with soybean harvest. Got going with the 580k the other day with brush removal along field edges, lots of buckthorn and prickly ash. I have the 4 in 1 clam bucket on the loader so that is great for moving debris. Am still thinking of the titan and as I remove brush I...

Well 575E you have had a chance to use the thumb a while now. Any thoughts you could share about the install, position on the dipper etc.

    Pond Project Case 580

Did the dipper cylinder gland nut with a big pipe wrench I got from Harbor Freight. I had to use a 10`pipe on the wrench, very very hard go. The piston went to a shop for the nut and he had a hard time with the nut. Also did a clam bucket cylinder myself with the pipe wrench and did the nut...

    Titan weld on thumb install.

NH575e Thanks a whole bunch for going to the trouble of taking pictures! I will be ordering one this winter and noted too that it did not come with instructions. Let us know how you find the position of the thumb is. Is it for brush, rock etc? I want mine for fenceline removal of prickly ash and...

Case 580C Coolant in the Oil

Be sure to lubricate the o rings well. I did sleeves in a tractor engine a few years ago and was cautioned by the very experienced mechanic/dealer to use lots of lubricant. The o rings are such a tight fit that when you are installing them they may curl up and out of the groove or distort. That...

    thumbs up for thumb?

Looks great! That weld shadow on the dipper looks like the footprint of a TRK thumb, they used a pointed end on the plate. Good luck with the new toy.

    thumbs up for thumb?

Oliver: Please keep us in mind and let us know how it works out, both the buy from Jet and the install. The pointy end on the weld shadow from a previous install looks an awful lot like a thumb mount that also uses the link pin for the bucket. What model backhoe do you have?
