Why are dozer push arms sometimes inside or outside the tracks?

The configuration you like the look of (2nd picture) as Shimmy says is a Power Angle Tilt blade (PAT blade). It has central pivot point and can be angled and tilted hydraulically while on the move, hence the central pivot and inner push arms giving it the space to angle one side or other. A...

Who's your Komatsu dealer for parts in Hungary? In UK we have Marubeni-Komatsu Ltd +44 1527 512512. Also have www.kedgeworth.com who are Komatsu specialists. Case 1494 fan belt replacement

Got a vague memory of doing similar on something (used to run a 1594), does the drive to the pump have a bolted section or a rubber drive coupling? Seem to recall creating a gap in the drive and squeezing the belt through...

new member with a d4d from the 60s direct drive with toolbar

CaptainB what Dave just said, the safer way is to drain the hydraulic reservoir, fill with clean new oil and then if you want to purge pipework you can run system for very short periods BUT never run tank dry while doing this - when I've done it there's been two of us and a 50 gallon drum with a...

best tire machine for big tires, any good hydraulic units out there?

Our commercial tyre services has one of these type of electric powered changers at their shop, takes the hard work out of it. The field service is still hydraulic bead breaker and tyre lever sweat.

Grease for ring gear and bearing?

I've seen water get in when the seal piece around the rotary union is torn - the rubber surround that bolts down around the union and is clamped to it, sometimes they get a tear in them and if they're buried in heaps of sticks and mud then the water pools in back of there and runs right in

    Heavy Equipment Repair Question

I am also interested to know the proper procedure for pre-heat and how to quantify, as my method is a kind of "Use the force, Luke" type of act, basically I preheat for a period that just seems right. Once that point is reached (?!) I get to welding and as long as welds keep going in over the...

You don't think those lifting things simply get wedged as a pair each side at the rear, and then the grouser lifts tractor up going in reverse? Then push blade down to lift front? Weird looking things though.

Komatsu features its 20-ton PC210LCE electric excavator.

I always wondered how the old gang felt when the transition happened from horses and steam tech into the gas and diesel era, and they were retired out and the old skills with them. Now I suspect that I won't have to wonder much longer. Going to need some re-training before poking around on that...

Question about the use of a 6 port valve.

We put a shuttle valve on a circuit that allows either buttons on joystick or a foot pedal to open/close a timber grapple. We did it to get proportional control for occasional fine delicate grabbing, while most of the time the non proportional joystick buttons are the more relaxed way to run it.
