The engine is not a spacer plate engine based on what our mechanic is telling me and on visual inspection. I think that the machine has had its original engine replaced with a motor out of a genset or other donor at some point. Ill get some photos up of the engine torn down. -

I cannot find the clearance tolerance for the flatness of the block to check with a straight edge and feeler gauges. Does anyone know what we need to have before reinstalling the heads so we know if we're going to need to deck the block? I've looked and looked for the engine serial number but... -
B30E EGR Cooler Leaking - Replacement or Aftermarket Availability?
Yes. Detroit's DD8 is the same engine in these trucks. This is helpful for allowing me to go outside the dealer for parts. Thats the route I've ended up going down.- 631G

TC, Pretty sure this failure was from improper shut down. I'm glad you pointed out the cleaning of the oil cooler. While its torn down I will ask our mechanic to pull it off and clean out. -

After some calls to different aftermarket suppliers I went ahead and bought two new heads. They weren’t too bad in comparison to what I was seeing from Cat. They cost right at $2,900/ea. they’re supposed to arrive next week. -

One of our newer B30E's (BAT7333 SN:8785) has developed an EGR cooler leak. I am being told this is a nonserviceable part. I'll have to give them a call and see what they can do for us. I have dealt with Blanchard Cat in South Carolina and they deal with a company I think also based in the Mid West that helps them to repair transmission cases. -

Pivot tires on a dump truck?
There is a company called OTR Engineered Solution in Florida that can build you a wheel to suit the need for any tire you want to put on there. Could be an option if things get to the point you have to get a tractor tread style tire on the truck.- 631G

We are die hard Esco bucket fans. Mainly for the ultra lock teeth system. However there is a premium charge to this affinity. We’ve had/have Hensley buckets but I am not a fan of their pin locking system. We took one Hensley bucket and swapped over the shanks to Esco. Are there any other...- 631G

We own one and have had positive experiences with it. I’m not a huge fan of the gear selection method of twisting your wrist to change gears but other than that it’s a good machine. It,lol keep up fine with knocking down piles brought to it by a few tandems or two, maybe 3, off road trucks...
