Sorry to hear about your machine. Loosing ours was a blessing because we replaced it with a 988H. As of now we have 4200 hours on it and very few problems.

I never even noticed. Even with all the problems I didn't like to see it go out the way it did. We had to drive around what was left of the Volvo day and night, kinda made me feel sorry for it. I can say one thing for the old girl, she could put the ponies to the ground. No telling how much that...

LOL!!! You couldn't pry it outa me or him with a thumb bucket :D Besides, I was home when it happened and I have witnesses:angel I was on the back porch having a cold one 4 miles from the plant but i did hear the tires blow up. Now i don't know where coalburner was when the thing went...

    New 988H Its here!

The machine handles the new bucket loaded with wet, washed, fine coal very well. You can pull the rear whells up with most machines depending on the height of the bucket when you lift and curle. But no I can fill the bucket until it runs over the back and the machine stays planted. This was the...

    New 988H Its here!

The 988 has been running fine and we just got our new 15 yd bucket installed. The weld-on shanks we ask for weren’t the ones I thought we were getting. These shanks fit over both sides of the cutting edge instead of just on top. This leaves grooves in the pad the truck drivers have to drive over...

    Muddy Komatsu dumper

Thats a real shame. Ther is no excuse for loading like that, let it spill over the back and clean it up if the loaders too big. If I'd been the driver me and that loader hand would have a little powwow. :nono

Another thing that creats a pain is parts. Some parts take weeks to get. The the computer our machine says it's seeing very light duty. About the only thing we move is crushed coal. I'm sure there are some good Volvo machines out there we just didn't get one of them. The 330 we had was...

We have to call the dealer often for repairs. The last one was intercooler. We could hear the leak. I thought it was the turbo or waste gate problem. Seems like it's always leaking something. The main problem with oil leaks are the O-rings on different things and it happens too often. I like...

    Michigan L190 stockpiles snow

I noticed and the wheel slip too. He'll get the hang of it if he has a good teacher or wants to learn. Some guys never learn. I worked with one guy for over 12 years and the day he retired he wasn't any better than the day he started. Pushing snow on asphalt, thats something I've never done...

    Michigan L190 stockpiles snow

He's not doing so bad. Hey, he didn't mash any of those cars passing buy. I wished I had some video of my first few times, I'm betting it would make this guy look like an old pro. Even after all these years I still suck some days :laugh

    punk loader abuse

Thanks AmerIndependent, looks much better. One of the boys took that with a cell phone. It's amazing how much that old 980 will push with gravity helping. :)
