    580k no brakes

Ahhh I was talking about a phase 2 also when I meant a phase 3. But I do know mine is a phase 1 with the shifter in the floor.

    580k no brakes

It could be phase 1 & 3. I can’t remember to be 100% positive. But I know my manuals say phase 1 & yes my shifter is in the floor not on the side console.

    580k no brakes

Didn’t know they wasn’t a phase 1 before phase 2 came out. My Service manual say 580K Phase 1. But yes it’s just slightly before that serial #

1991 Topkick wanting a air gate

Lol……. I actually just finished watching the video. I understand a little better now. But do all cylinders like this require 12v like those instructions show? In the video I believe all he ran was airline.

1991 Topkick wanting a air gate

Is it just a matter of mounting the cylinder & hooking to the release rod, plumbing air to the cab & back to the cylinder? Where do you get your air from, just the main tank? Do you cut your release rod to fit or another way?

1991 Topkick wanting a air gate

    580k no brakes

Both pedals go to the floor. As far as the TCH fluid in the master cylinders, I’m not positive. I’ve never added anything to it, it’s always been full of something. It has a lid on the reservoir that says DOT 3 brake fluid. The fluid level never drops no matter how many times you depress the...

    580k no brakes

Got a 89 phase 1 580k 4x4. Problem is no brakes, had perfect brakes when parked & the next day got on it & pedal hit the floor boards. Master cylinder was full, no obvious signs of a leak anywhere. Anyone have any ideas on this?

1991 Topkick wanting a air gate

Got a 91 Topkick with a manual lever operated tailgate. Is it complicated to install a air cylinder & valve switch in the cab to operate a air release tailgate? Thanks

    TD7E Transmission and Steering Question

Go on YouTube look up “Digginok”, go through his videos. He has a TD8G the same as mine. Well he made a homemade track press, & done a video for me of how he made it. Neat little tool he made, helped me completely.

    TD7E Transmission and Steering Question

Hawk10, that trans & brake system shouldn’t have a pressure plate I don’t believe. The older years would have but when they went to the power shift it should’ve done away with that. I was just referring that’s what it looked like to me. Sorry for the confusion there

    TD7E Transmission and Steering Question

It definitely looks like some sorta rivets. I’d imagine it being a later 7E that it has the fiber steering clutches & brakes. But it reminds me of the rivets that’s in a pressure plate.

    Digging bucket

Anyone happen to know if they’re any buckets that are interchangeable for the 580k? Is there any other model case’s that will swap out, I’ve found a good deal on 12” bucket but it’s from a different 580 model machine.

    Dresser TD-8G

Very much so true. I was figuring that would be your answer. That’s the best way to do it my friend, it’s done & never have to worry about it. I might start redoing mine as well.

    Dresser TD-8G

That’s quite the load for the ole girl there very impressive, sharp looking dozer too Willie B. When you redone your harness did you buy a wiring harness or just build one as you went along?

    Dresser TD-8G

Both guys here are correct. I’ve got a TD8G & on the dash you’ve got a push button for the starter, push button for ether injection, toggle switch for the off/run & a push/pull switch for the lights. I believe you could bypass your main disconnect to see if that was your problem or not. But also...
