I've installed the lines at the drive motor incorrectly and had these symptoms. Possibility? Probably not if both left and right are doing it... The way high range works in these is the small pilot line going into the motors is the signal line for high range. I'd trace the wire from switch...- ZGrant231

I have bobcat equipment, after the retainer boss wears I usually replace with expander pins for cost reasons. 7k hrs on some with no issues. https://www.nord-lock.com/expander-system/- ZGrant231

Further assessment revealed a cracked braking cone and growling bearings. I went to a blown d7 pony I had for parts and it to had an almost worn through pinnion trust washer. With some used parts and great advice on here, it started under its own power again. Thank you everyone for the help. -

Well I found it... Pinnion gear was sitting in clutch housing when I pulled it. I'm assuming the six 3/8 bolts are supposed to be in these holes. That explains losing oil, probably into the clutch compartment. The o-ring seal behind the collar looks to be good and will seal. It appears... -

My d8 14a starter motor won't engage. It started acting up about the first day, only turning the engine over 50% the time. When it would act up. I would shut it off, go through starting sequence and it would engage and start just fine. Trying to limp it through the project, I delt with it... -
Building new canopy for an old D8

D7 17a turbo air cleaner
While serving the air cleaner on my D7 17A 12k the lower cup and center contained oil. My 17a manuals show the screen type oil baths, but stamped on the lower tub "do not use oil " Is this a dry type cleaner? Has anyone had experience with this style that have the small tubes in it?
