Hi Guys I have my little ex60 giving a few issues was hoping to get some advice, firstly I have removed the bottom plate below the hydraulic tank and unfortunately I dont see a filter housing but I do see a rectangular plate with 4 bolts ,I haven't removed the plate as I am looking for the pilot filter .
I have had the machine for years and its never had the filters changed although it does very little work .
I had a drive issue that drained all the oil from the tank, I refilled with 32 oil not 46 and this is where things started to play up, first the drive became slow on the LH side
then it stopped, the slew motor also stopped, the knuckle boom hardly moves very slow, and the quick hitch stopped as well , the drive on the rh side works, the boom moves up and down blade moves up and down roll the bucket all ok .
the drive when you try and move it just clinks like you can hear the pistons move in and out but wont work, my thoughts are that the thin oil might have moved crap through the filter and blocked them hence I will try a filter replacement first, the motor loads up when I try and slew the machine so the pump is working .
my big question is would anyone be able to tell me where the pilot filter is as mentioned there is no easy screw on filter that I can see underneath my thoughts are its under the plate with the 4 little bolts but I just dont know and the machine is parked in a **** of a spot to work on , I have a manual on it but its for a bit later model that shows a screw type filter .
I look forward to hearing your responses or even a picture of the filter location would be fantastic regards all Tommy

Hitachi EX60URG sn# 10C 1001 and up.
The operators manual and the parts catalog show the pilot filter just to the left of the main hydraulic pump.

FYI, at the Deere bookstore there is an option to download a free copy of the Operators manual. It has the maintenance info.
https://www.johndeeretechinfo.com/search?p0=model&p0_v=EX60URG&pattr=p0 .Great stuff I have found and removed the little bugger and I removed the return in the tank as well, I thought I would wash them in some Gas I sat the big filter in a container and filled it through the opening in the top and it took well over a min for the gas to flow through might be thinking thats a problem if the gas cant get through hows will the oil lol will try and source new filters on monday cheers Tommy

Hi Dave got the filters and it came alive instantly , the rh track motor was still operating but the lh side no go , after loading the lh side right up it started leaking from the planetary cover so that motor needs a looking at , and now the rh side stopped , I loosened piping and have pressure all round so might need to pull the motors off I think will put up another post re the problem, but the filters worked
