I have a 2018 259D and really hoping it has creep mode because I’m using a HD brush cutter, it shows the snail on the diagram by the left joystick and has the snail on the display, regular display not the advanced. The manual also says creep mode just hit the bottom left button on left joystick but the snail does not light up. Does it have creep mode or do you have to have the advanced display?

Sorry to have to break the news to you but if you want the creeper function you have to update the instrument panel to the Advanced Display. With that update copleted the Machine ECM Configuration can be modified to activate the creeper function.

Some other software files may have to be updated to maintain compatibility and connectivity between the various ECMs on the machine.

On the 262C machine I had to change the standard display to an Instrument Panel Display Module. Additionally, I had to install the Creep Control switch. But the old display has a Creep Control icon. What is this icon for then? Maybe you can just install the switch and activate this function in the machine configuration using CAT ET?

No, on your machine the Creep Control switch is located in the joystick itself.
Judging by the electrical diagram, the wire from the Creep Control switch goes straight to the ECM. Theoretically, everything should work. But most likely, without a new display, it really won’t work, since the Creep speed setting is on the display.

The question still remains, why is there a Creep Control icon in the old standard Instrument Claster if Creep Control is not activated with this display???

That is exactly the case. When the Advanced Display is installed it has to be configured/activated.
It is listed as "Gauge Cluster #2" on the Configuration Screen.
Without the AD being physically installed on the machine and a change in its configuration from "Not Installed" to "Installed" the Creeper Function will not work.

So that display looks different/ less expensive haha than the advanced display. That is what you added to get it to work? Do happen to have the part number?

At that time it was parts number 346-6336.

Thanks, it still shows $1500 maybe that’s the old version of Avanced display, maybe I can find a used one, thanks for your response, once you added the display did you have to do any updates or it just worked, thanks again

It's not plug & play unfortunately. After the installation of the Advanced Display panel the configuration of the Machine ECM has to be changed using Cat ET.

The following Part Numbers of Advanced Display will all work - 346-6336(*), 514-2367, 543-1326, 657-4558.
* - Note that in the case of the 346-6336 it is an older P/N for an unprogrammed module that requires a software installation before it will work, as opposed to simply an ET Configuration change. A used module of that Part Number taken from another machine should be already programmed.

See the attached instructions.

I had to connect CAT ET and change the Gauge Cluster #2 Installation Status configuration in ECM Machine Control to "Installed".
To see what parameters are changing on your machine, you need to download the Status Report from ECM. I don't have the Status Report from 259D on my computer, but I looked at other D-series machines, and there is exactly the same parameter in the settings, Gauge Cluster #2 Installation Status.

And a small clarification. This new Gauge Cluster 346-6336 was not installed as a replacement for the old one, but as an addition. Before that, there was a plug in that place.

I checked in SIS, 346-6336 is not installed on 259D, it is installed on some D series machines, but not on yours, mainly on the C series. Therefore, as Nige said, only a advanced display will really suit you. But you can connect not only Creep Control to it, but also a rear view camera.
