Hi There, I seem to have damaged the quick change hydraulics, I left a shackle on the lifting lug and it destroyed some part of the mechanism.

Do you know if the QC pins are thread turned in and out or like a master cylinder?

I made a video on our channel about this to help share what actually happened. Also do I need to cap the hydraulic lines if I disconnect it?

Ok I managed to get the bucket off, I should be able to start taking apart the hydraulic mechanism. The part part however doesn't swivel so the pins might be bent or it is naturally a tight fit. I am almost tempted to weld it closed in if I need to hydraulically actuate / retract the QC pins.

If you fast forward to minute 7:44 you can see the damage.

I'll share the removal video so you can see what I mean. Also the shackle or clevis, is twisted / bent and will need to be cut off, what a festival.

I'm in Edmonton, welcome to the forum. Pics. of the damage might be better than a video. Get everything apart to fix it properly before you do any welding. Lots of experience on this forum and video's are OK but they are usually too long and not focused specifically on the problem. Not many want to watch a 14 minute video when a simple picture(s) tells the story.

Ok good advice , here is the damage. Looks like I just need to clean it up and reassemble .

Ok here is the next video in the repair series. It is mainly me try to get the bucket off. Went pretty smooth.

Can anyone recommend the proper Cast Iron Stick weld electrodes for this metal type and TIG versions? I can buy form your Amazon store if you have one. Thx.

Today I am going to organize the shop to prepare for a work location to film assessing the strength of the existing piece and what measurements I can locate in case it is cheaper to CNC a new part.

Hopefully next week I'll find what the part number is for this thing and how much a replacement is.

I'm just on a phone but wouldn't think there would be cast iron. Cast steel is more likely. A spark test or seeing if a cutting torch would cut it bit could tell. Cast steel 7018 or basic mild steel Tig rod will work. Maybe a little preheat.
