Bucket Repair and New Cutting Edges.

I have 4 Maybe 5 Excavator buckets to weld up, One needs a few cracks fixed and the rest need new cutting edges. What i was hoping to find out is when i go to weld the new Edges on do i have to Preheat at all? the Cutting edges are 3/4" to 1" Thick and i beleave they are AR400.
