I have a Cat 312C serial number CAT0312CTCBA00450 that will be working fine then all of a sudden drop rpm to idle and not rev up again. I've tried the manual over ride switches they won't bring the engine up in revs only drop them to stall the machine out. Have checked voltage to stepper motor and voltage at the computer, 6.4v when the machines idling and it rises up to 8.4v when full revs come on. The issue is the machine will suddenly drop to 5.4 and the pointentiometer won't bring the revs up nor will the manual over ride switches. The manual over ride switch when pushed to drop rpm will quickly drop the voltage to 0.64v stalling the machine. I've checked the throttle dial and cleaned the earths for the computer behind the cab. It will only happen intermittently doesn't matter if the machine is hot or working, any other places to look at before getting the computer tested?
Cheers
