A friend referred this machine to me some months back. Evidently it's been sitting a while, but it does run. Seems like 60's era machine, does anyone know how long they were made?

Most parts will be available from your local Cat house. Many engine parts and some transmission or U/C parts are available from after-market folks. There are still a lot of these machines working every day.

All I remember seeing was 977, although the manual he had in the office was for the 977 traxcavator. They bought the machine in the 70's used, and used it till the 90's when it had steering problems. It's been sitting in the yard since 1998.
