My high temp alarm comes on after shutting machine down and then turning back on, It is idled down for a minute shut off then when fired back up in 10 to 15 minutes the high temp alarm goes off. While running the temp gauge is always on cold. Would I be better off to just let it run through breaks?

Our 2554 excavator does not do that, but we really only start it once or twice per day, and it idles while the tracks are cleaned and it is fueled. One minute probably is not long enough to let the head cool (try to lift one some day - lots of cast there) and that hot water is throwing the sensor.
