Here's some pics of the 9L I run.

We're building a 4 mile long haul road on a shoestring budget.
Working on a drill pad, popping out some rather large dolomite boulders

I love building road like that! No inspectors, no traffic, and no people! Plus your in the mountians!
We built 7 miles of new road into a new gold mine in N.E. Washington 2 years ago the same way. Pushed around 300,000 yards with a 9N and two 8N's. Had to truck about 100,000.
My boss told me when we started, "We will never build another on like this!" I really hope he was wrong!

Cool looking job, brings back memories of some of the work we used to do years ago back in NZ.

I used to set up and operate a horizontal drill on benches that looked exactly like that. Nice pics. ;)

It's a high magnesium limestone, some of it is comparable to a soft diatomaceous earth......some of it is harder than hell
and full of big boulders

Awesome pictures! I got lucky at Ft. Leonard Wood and got to tear a new landing zone in a tree grove just off one of the training grounds. I never took pictures but the old gunny told me I'd never see this again and he was right. Perfectly dropped hundred year old oaks with beutiful panorama of 70's D7s all around. These times I'm reminded TAKE FRICKING PICTURES.

One part of my job that I hate is knocking down the old growth oaks....something wrong about killing a tree that's been around since my great-great granddad.....

That being said, the twig in the middle of this pic is actually an oak with a 7' diameter trunk, can't get to it so its getting blasted out.
