I recently purchased a hitachi zx27u mini-ex. I would like to change the hydraulic oil as it has app. 1100 hrs. on the clock. My dealer says to run
Hitachi ex46hn hydraulic oil. They are also a deere dealer and say that
deere says to run the Hitachi oil in the deere machiners not even sub. deere oil for the hitachi oil. The stuff is pretty high $100 bucks for 5 gal.
Has anyone had experience subbing other oils for the hitachi oil. The machine
is identical to a deere 27c except color.

Connoco Phillips lists a eccoterra 46 substitute for ex46hn. Its listed as enviromentally safe. That mite be the reason for the cost.
