This unit has a Isuzu 3LD1 engine and an overheating problem I've been trying to figure out for several years. It starts great and runs great but starts heating up past 190 while working it if the ambient air temp is over about 55-60F. I eventually have to run it with the hood open and if the temp is over 80 or so I can only work it a half day. It cools down to normal operating temp if I idle it with the hood open. Here's what I've thrown at it so far:
1) New radiator cap
2) New thermostat and I verified that it works.
3) New water pump
4) Rodded out radiator
5) New muffler
6) Tested for leaking head gasket
7) Added aftermarket temp gauge to verify the factory gauge is working properly
8) Cooling system flushed out several times over the last few years
I'm out of ideas. it doesn't leak a drop of coolant, and it used to run on the cooler side even on a hot day until something unknown happened. Does anyone haven any ideas? Would an out of time injection pump cause overheating? The exhaust smells like burning oil, but the engine doesn't burn any oil. Don't know if that could be a clue.
If anyone might have any suggestions on where to go from here I'm all ears and would very much appreciate any help.
