NEWS FLASH! TCC visits 60Conrad 1956-2016

Saturday, June 25th 2016 Conrad Modelle celebrated in grand style the 60th anniversary of the company.

Conrad Modelle (previously Gescha) is a German manufacturer of Diecast scale models primarily in 1:50 scale for use both as toys and promotional models by heavy equipment manufacturers. Conrad had the Caterpillar line of construction vehicles starting late 1960s through about 1992, but then the licenses changed over to Norscot.

At the open house to celebrate the 60th anniversary were family, friends, relations and collectors from around the world treated to a huge event in and around the company. Outside were 1:1 examples of the scale models produced by Conrad. Inside there was the opportunity to visit both the museum as well the very rare chance to see the production facility where one could assemble the 60th anniversary model itself. A unique glimpse behind the scenes

Friend, Caterpillar scale model collector and professional photographer Thomas Wilk from TCC Photowork was invited and made an exclusive photo shoot of his visit to this special day in the history of Conrad Modelle in Nuremberg.

UPDATE! Modelshow Europe 2017

Saturday, March 18th, 2017 the 26st Modelshow Europe was held in the flowerauction "Plantion" nearby the city Ede in the Netherlands.

On this special exhibition one could see all kinds of miniatures and model construction projects in the field of earthmoving, cranes and heavy transport. This Modelshow Europe exhibition is unique by its grand design and the only one in Europe.
Many collectors and builders showed on the Modelshow Europe their (rebuilt and/or radio controlled) models. Also a wide range of miniatures and related components for the modeller where offered for sale.

Ad Gevers staffed with Richard van der Horst, Anton Monshouwer, Huub van Dijke, Gertjan Veld & Jack Schrijen again had a joint stand. Mini Movers together with some members of our "CSVT" group from home and abroad, was present during the entire day in and around the booth. Many visitors where hugely surprised by the first custom 3D printed Caterpillar scale model.

NEWS FLASH! Caterpillar 320D LRR [Custom 1:50]

Within our group of Caterpillar collectors are builders who built various custom versions by using standard scale models as a donor for their custom project.

So I was lucky to meet on the Model Show Europe 2017 in Ede fellow collector Lorenzo who made in-house, in a very limited edition, a custom upper body of the Caterpillar 320D LRR in 1:50th scale.

This highly detailed custom scale model, made of resin material, is combined with the matching cabin protection and by then using the boom and the undercarriage of the donor Caterpillar 323D Hydraulic Excavator (a 320D is also an option) from Norscot in scale 1:50th will be soon by Gertjan for me transformed into a realistic replica of this "reduced tail swing" machine.

Spielwarenmesse 2018 [Diecast Masters 1:50]

Diecast Masters is present with a booth at the International Toy Fair aka Spielwarenmesse held from wednesday, January 31 up to February 4, 2018, in Nuremberg, Germany.
Diecast Masters shall during the Toy Fair reveal their line up with the new Masters Diecast scale models for 2018. In addition to the previously announced models the Caterpillar D11T Track-Type tractor (in two versions) and of course the first "Caterpillar Evolution Series will be shown for the first time to the collectors.

UPDATE ANNOUNCEMENT! Caterpillar TS220 [Custom 1:50]

GL3D Models has released this week the first official photos off his next upcoming custom made 3D printed resin scale models in 1:50th scale:


Caterpillar TS220 Towed Scraper (set)


This unique 3D printed model of the Caterpillar TS220 Towed Scraper will be available in very limited numbers and only built on request.
It will be available in two different versions: Leading and trailing. Both are exact replicas of the 1: 1 versions, have full functionality and all the details you can think of from hydraulic lines to the lifting eye.
The worldwide introduction of the scale model will take place during the Modelshow Europe 2018 in Ede, The Netherlands on 17th March 2018.

UPDATE! Ad Gevers - Modelshow Europe 2018


Saturday, March 17th, 2018 the 27st Modelshow Europe was held in the flowerauction "Plantion" nearby the city Ede in the Netherlands.

Ad Gevers is a Dutch custom Caterpillar scalemodel builder. His main focus are Track-Type Tractors and Scrapers.
To celebrate that Ad Gevers has been collecting Caterpillar Track-Type Tractors scale models for 40 years and building 20 years kits under the name cADSttachments he decided to accomplish a unique custom built project:

This knock out model of the Caterpillar 830M with Curtiss Wright 18M Scraper will be available in a “Old Highway Yellow” Civil and in a green “Army’ version in very limited numbers.

UPDATE! The making of... ACCO Super Dozer

Custom scale model builder Matteo from Trilex Modelli is making good progress on one of his latest projects: Building a ACCO Super Bulldozer in 1:50th scale.
The ACCO Super Bulldozer is the largest and most powerful Track-Type Tractor ever made. It was built in Italy, by the Umberto Acco company. The ACCO super bulldozer was constructed mainly of Caterpillar parts. This bulldozer has a gross weight of 183 tons and is powered by two 675hp Caterpillar engines and has a dozer blade that is 23 ft.

Today time for an update with an extra 25 photos added of this "The making of... a ACCO Super Bulldozer" and during the coming period, Matteo will guide you by the complete design and construction process of this unique scale model, and the end result shall eventually, as a real custom builder wants to achieve display the 1: 1 machine as naturally as possible. You will be amazed with the high standards he sets!
