What's with the VA boom on the last pic of the excavators, I always see those VA booms on almost every European excavator pic.

VA boom

Hello That cat 330 has not an VA boom but an demolition boom(you can change to an high lift attacment)
VA booms is very standard here but mainly on wheel excavators because of the flexibility many thinks you get whit that boom.
If you have an drilling attacment many belive that VA boom is the thing too have on crawlers also(beacuse of the flexibility when operating the drilling attacment)
Hope you understand what i tried to explain:Cowboy

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the reasons for all the VA booms on excavators under the 22 ton class in Europe, yet here in North America, they aren't even an option, only on the wheeled excavators.

Hey 637Slayer.
That trailer is JR's own transport rigg. Its only intended for on-road use. I would not use it to much off-road.:)
The pic where u see the D10 from behind is at a DOT controll post.(Minnesund)
He has just drove it off the scales and parked for the picture.
I beliewe he may be waiting for the DOT escort, but normaly they change a bit further north.

If am not wrong, he still got some to go on weight with that setup.
5+5 axles is a big rigg here.

Volvo has one of the best hydraulic couplers I've ever seen, much better than the WBM and CWS hydro-wedge system.

BTW, what's the name of the company that makes the red leveler device?

That looks like an SMP coupler, aint that right rockbreaker?

They are very popular around here.
Volvo might got a identical one, they buy/start to use good design when the customers starts to demand them.

On edit, looks like volvo on the exc and SMP on the buckets/accessories.

Level device

Hey bobcat Ron.

The level device is an swedish product sold in Norway .
It works great and is easy to use if you have an rototilt over it.you can level floors etc on no time.
RF System is the name of the producer.
Maybe some of our swedish friends have an adress to a internet page?

Mkft i do not remember the brand on the quik qupler(Wrong word??) but the company had 4 machines with the same system so we could borrow equpment from each other:scool

The coupler has a standard called "B20" and it's very common here but it's loosing grunds to what's called "s40", "s60" etc's

rf has a page with dimension for them if your interested.

here in the U.S. it usually takes a triple axle trailer with a dolly on the back of it to bridge the weight legally, when hauling something as heavy as a 10,that transport setup in your pics was sweet, but i liked the pic of the hoe better.
