Removing engine from cat 216

I've got most everything done to remove the engine from my cat 216. The info I have shows removing the 2 bolts connecting the pump, but would it be better to remove the bolts from the flywheel cover? looks like a real pain to get the two bolts out as there is no way to get a ratchet on them. any thoughts or help is appreciated.
