Well that four track version is heavier then a 3 BUT the weight on a single rear track causes some problems from time to time. Long as you have people that know a little something running it.
Hey bean,
Before jumping off, check out the new PR950B with the Cat engine. There is one up in Missouri this week at the MAPA show and it has the 12'6" cutter installed. Look at the Terex Roadbuilding site under New Products/PR950 and look in the gallery tab. This machine has awesome access to the engine bay and you can walk directly into the engine compartment to service the pumps. The engine is designed to operate at 1800 RPM also so there is a lower noise level on this machine than others around.
Another new thing for the machine is the standalone diesel air compressor that you can turn on and off only when you need to change teeth. You no longer need the big engine running while servicing the drum.
The 3 track gives you great maneuverability so that's my suggestion.

You can operate the machine in B direction (down cut). If you do alot of B direction work, you'd need alternate controls/swap direction of tracks.
What kind of work are you doing in B direction? Are you dumping in trucks/ windrowing/ pulling pug-mill and paver? Fairfield or O&K can make reverse direction planetaries. CMI did that on several PR800-7s back in the day. There's a couple of these machines in Thailand that were B direction machines where the customer was simply pulling a screed behind the machine.
