When I worked construction-operator was walking a 225 down a hill side road with ice.
Slid off the side, roughly a 100' drop then into some trees. Brush guards narrowly saved him.

Just curious, how did the operator fare?
I'm not sure if the operator had any serious injuries . But he did have to be "cut" out of the cab . The Loader was pulled out of the creek and repaired , then put back to work . I'll be seeing Bruce tomorrow , I'll find out more .

Boy that's a hell of a nice eight
Any of the Equipment that is painted Yellow on the bottom and Orange on top was originally own by PBC ( Pat Carson Bulldozing) Pat Carson was a very smart man who took good care of his Crew and his Equipment . In the mid 1990's he sold out to Hayes Forest .

Some where's back along the M/L the pin that goes through the "Funnel" at the end of the Compensator , that connects the trailer reach to the funnel bounced out . When the Truck started turning to cross the bridge , the end of the reach parted from the funnel and swung out from under the load to the left as the truck started across the bridge . the trailer tracked off the road and pulled the truck off the bridge . The driver who was in good "shape" did not have any serious injuries .
When I was at Nekite River , I was at the Log Dump one day when a truck pulled in behind me . The driver made walk around check of his truck . He came up to me and said " you won't believe this one , I don't have a pin in the funnel" . The pin was found on the M/L six miles out out of camp .

If they're like highway loggers the wrappers just go around the bundle and don't get cinched down to the bunks.
