Hello Everyone! New Member checking in... :-)

Greetings and welcome to the HEF! What do you farm? I grow rabbits. Huge operation. Sometimes, I can’t remember all their names.

    Truck prices

This falling star is in the shop today getting up-fitted. No idea on cost, but it took two years to finally get it.

Sterling l9500 dip stick part number

Cat has a nice well written procedure for calibrating blank dip sticks. Start first by filling with the recommended amount as per your O&M for the engine. Contact Sterling? Part number? Then what? Say what? Ain’t no product support available for that thing. To top it off, Caterpillar’s...

    wheel nuts

So only two ugga-duggas with the imoact? Is that what you are saying? :)

    wheel nuts

Horrible what Ford & Chrysler did with their crappy nut design. People can’t change flats along the road. Shops have to charge more time, just to get the damn wheels off. Extra expense to purchase proper wheel nuts.

    wheel nuts

Cuttin Edge has swollen nuts. I tell ya. What a pain. Anti-seize or no anti-seize ? Torque stick or torque wrench? Two ugga-duggas or three ugga-duggus ?

    Cat 242D seat sensor bypass

New guy, As professionals, we don’t generally tell neubies how to disable safety features or how to delete emission controls. If you can’t figure out how to bypass your own stuff , it’s not fair to ask us and then get snippy about it. Knowwhatimsayin? I’m all for freedom. If you ain’t...

Chrome shaft pitting repair back yard

I grew up fairly close to C.B. Bumper in the 80’s-90’s. This dude started a chrome plating business and restoration company in his barn. It was great for the local hot-rod and car community. Not so good for the neighborhood. He dumped the waste on the ground or in his septic tank. He...

    Falling Scrap Iron prices

Thanks, This one happened to be sitting on a leased container chassis. They had a rough life hauling salt, so the frames are rotted beyond repair and won’t pass a CSC inspection. These were made by Brenner in the early 90’s. Like you guys say, it’s probably best to sell them locally...

    Had new hydraulic rods made

I don’t have anything to add that hasn’t been said. They are probably a better machine shop vs a welding shop. Machinists that are trying to weld. Which is probably better than a welder trying to machine? IDK ?

Lets see your "ultimate" service truck!

Speaking or being off-track, my service truck has wings. Ol’e N754KP. She was a helluva bird.

    Falling Scrap Iron prices

Fellas, What would be the best approach or options for scrapping these old dry bulk ISO tanks? The frames are steel with steel cast corners. The vessel is T316 6mm thick stainless, 5300 gallon capacity. The skins are aluminum with rock wool insulation underneath. 7500 lbs total weight...
