    Memories for us old truckers

I had a angel looking out for me, when the bungee went, it grazed my eye just enough to break my plastic contact lens in three pieces, and my eye was sore for days. But no permanent injury.

It did, when I was jacking around on the trailer with it not fully slid trying to get the carry deck off. The trailer didn't care for having 35,000 of carry deck putting it in a bind, and finally the top flange went. I think the bottom had been cracked for a while.

    Memories for us old truckers

Spotted in a parking lot Friday. They were supposed to have a trans am show saturday, but I didn't get past there. Did see a "bandit" complete with screaming chicken on the hood and a big CB antenna at the gas station.

Separate customers. One was to replace a hay barn that burnt down, and from what I heard, the owner/ farmer turned it in on his insurance- and they were covering it. That insurance company may go after the builder, but I haven't heard anything about that yet. The other one, the trusses are...

Went to indiana a week or so ago. Spotted two spools of 3/4" cable at $1 per foot, so made a run to purchase it. About 1/2 way to st. louis I was like "I smell fuel".. It went away, but came back with a vengance. I got pulled over and to a small diesel shop, and replaced a return line...

Problem was in the valve stack in one of the 40t linkbelt. Got that fixed, winches are now back working again, but still slow and not getting full line pull. So there's something else still jacked up there. KW was close to running, its all back together, but the guys said it isn't showing...

Broke the rollback trailer a while back. Its been not rolling like it should, and I did a number on it with the carry deck. We've got it welded back up, but I've got some new rollers and pins and we're going to try to get it back in shape. Had to load the carry deck up on the double drop...

Haven't had the best luck lately with trusses on projects. Both of these blew down in the last two months. Both went down 3-4 days after we left. I think both were underbraced, especially the walls. Both were around 70' long, but one set was vaults, and you have to brace the dickens out of...

    Working the National 1300A

I got curious, so I've got a camera/ display set up on the way. I'll let you know how it works. The camera's are magnetic mount, solar panel and batteries, supposedly go to sleep when you shut off the main monitor. We'll see....

    Working the National 1300A

Somebody forgot to put their beams out.... :) Its was probably the "don't block the driveway" nonsense. It always irritates me when they want you to bring in crane, counterweight truck, semi with a chiller unit, but "we need access for the customers- so you can't block anything." WELL...

    Memories for us old truckers

I looked at buying one of those railroad wreckers once, but there' s just not that many things to use one for. I've seen the holmes ones and P&H made one too, I think.
