Cat 955L saved from being paperclips. Looking for help on tensioners and injectors.

Nige! I hope all is well! I have strayed away too far from HEF with the busy time of life. I am actually on the computer ordering filters for the machine, and I decided to come back to my roots of where my CAT journey started by paying a visit here. The ol' 955L is still in use at the premises...

I have inadvertently drifted away from HEF over the past few years, but this drew me right back in! I have enjoyed your journey!!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my little story! I definitely learned a wealth of knowledge along the way with this great little community. Good luck on your endeavors! There is quite a collection of information along with many masters of the trade (myself excluded) that is invaluable.

I was hoping to have it running by now, but UPS had a booboo this week.

Cat 955L saved from being paperclips. Looking for help on tensioners and injectors.

Had a rainy Sunday today, so we brought it in the shop and pulled the head. I’ve already got the parts in order, so I’m hoping it’ll be back together by next weekend. I’m hoping to clean up some waterways yet this year. I ordered a bare head, so I dressed the valves. Supposedly, this was a reman...

Cat 955L saved from being paperclips. Looking for help on tensioners and injectors.

Life has a way of getting busy sometimes! The 955 has been all over the countryside the past few years. Clearing brush and overgrowth, digging ponds, and moving hills. I’ve been fighting leaking cups quite a bit, so I’m bringing it in for a new head.

International 4130 - Another Chance at Life

After a few years on the repower, we decided to roll back the “upgrade” to the old Onan. The v-twin just didn’t have enough umph and rattled the poor power divider a little too hard. We found a Onan generator that had the same block as the old engine. We pulled it down and swapped parts around...

I have found that my safety arm can get bound on occasion and takes some tapping to get moving.

Not a one of them has leaked a drop! I did knock the inner lip off of one of them this fall at the father in laws whilst pushing on a hillside. To be expected, I'm sure...

Cat 955L saved from being paperclips. Looking for help on tensioners and injectors.

I did pull a dumdum and got in a fight with a tree branch this fall, though. I wacked the muffler with a limb and cracked the elbow off the turbo outlet. There was not a lot of meat left around the area for the sealing ring, but I made it work. That was a bit of a PITA to get off of the turbo. I...

Cat 955L saved from being paperclips. Looking for help on tensioners and injectors.

It has been a long time since I posted on here! I got the buckets swapped this summer and put the gal to work this summer and fall at the farm and over at the in-laws. I didn't think to take any pictures of the process of building the brush mountains. This new bucket makes a different machine...

Welcome to the world of a 955L! It sounds like your machine is close in serial number to mine. I learned a lot going through working on mine to get it going!
