    yarder comparison

Hi Joe, I've worked a fair bit with both the Washington 78A and Madill 122. Washington is an old machine and you will need to have a parts supply and a good mechanic, that being said it can be a good little swing yarder and we were logging 0.3m3/tree timber in the Merritt area for years with...

Madill 120 Question Can someone shed some light on how one can rig up a Madill 120 to run a standing skyline with a motorized carriage? I've seen it done, but I'm not clear on whether there needs to be modifications made to the machine to do it. The machine in question is one of the last...

Thunderbird Yarders, Loaders, and Etc from the Murray's in Eugene Oregon

I'm looking for some info and specs on TSY 155 swing yarders - in particular S5142, a 1994 Model that was originally sold to Gall Logging. What would a comparable Madill machine be? Any info would be much appreciated.

    S. Madill, Blacksmith, Founded in 1911 in Nanaimo BC

A bit more info to add to the 120 database.... 120-11 - sold in 2011 to maybe to Vancouver Island? 120-27 - now owned by Stamer Logging 120-29, 120-12 or 120-06 is or was for sale.... I'm pretty sure DR Moore only has 2 now and maybe soon 1.

    S. Madill, Blacksmith, Founded in 1911 in Nanaimo BC

A couple of Madill yarders spotted during a recent tour around Nakusp. Madill 122, originally owned by Schiller Contracting - I believe this may be 122/123 hybrid with the drumset and boom from a 123. Madill 071 plugging away

Hayes trucks in the logging industry

A 1973 Hayes working in the interior of BC this winter. Impressive to see a truck of this vintage out there working with 7 and 8 axle trucks that are the standard of today... There are very few still hauling logs in the this part of the province.
