    Anyone parting out a ex58mu?

Looking for various parts for an ex58mu. Kinda hard to find in North America since these were brought in as a gray market machine. Specifically I'm looking for the rear cowling/hood (& all the tin), roof over the ROP, and hydraulic valve bank.

How do I remove the sun gear? No bolts/clips on the cover!

The provious owner backed his trailer into the valve bank and sheared off the spool towers. The hydraulics can't be run until repaired.

How do I remove the sun gear? No bolts/clips on the cover!

I thought about removing the hydraulic lines into it but from what I could see the drives need pressure to deactivate the internal brakes. Just waiting now for the tow truck to fit me into a back haul. He'll just drag it the 10' up the deck

How do I remove the sun gear? No bolts/clips on the cover!

This is the external view. Note the zero clearance between the housing and the cover.

How do I remove the sun gear? No bolts/clips on the cover!

Nope. Its not visible from the outside. This ring is internal. I tapped the assembly with a hammer to loosen it but nothing. The space between the round front cover and the side housing is the thickness of a business card, with no circlip

    Questions about a Hitachi EX-58mu

Just bough a dead EX-58mu Previous owner broke the main valve bank. All 8 of the little spool valve spring tower caps on the side sheared off, so I'll be buying parts in the future. Local Hitachi dealer is saying that they are 3-2 months out and a custom made to order part. Since this isn't a...

How do I remove the sun gear? No bolts/clips on the cover!

I have a dead ex-58mu Hitachi that I need to load up onto a ramp trailer. Normally I would unbolt the 6 or 8 bolts around the drive front cover then remove the sun gear. Temporary neutral. This final drive is different. There are no bolts. There isn't a indented ring for a circlip or anything...

Bobcat V518 Versahandler Hydraulic PWM spool issues

2008 V518 Versahandler I've lost functionality from the boom extend circuit and aux hydraulics out by the tool carrier. At first it was a bit possessed, not working then extending at random intervals and directions but I solved that by unplugging the hydraulic solenoid when not in use. :(...

No throttle response from a Perkins 1004 in a versahandler

Sounds good. All seems well now. It starts fine and runs through the RPM range as it should. Thanks for the help!

No throttle response from a Perkins 1004 in a versahandler

Ok, significant developments in the man vs. evil Bobcat saga. I removed the latch valve and it looked good. Spring/plunger travel as expected. I re bled the pump and injectors and got it to idle. No difference. Same as before with zero throttle response. I played with the advance solenoid and no...

No throttle response from a Perkins 1004 in a versahandler

I checked the lever shaft and it does turn as a complete unit with the lever and retaining nut. I'll check the latch valve but I'm having difficulty in locating it. Is it the locking nut with the odd washer used to lock the pump during removal or the one next to it with the beveled top? I see...

No throttle response from a Perkins 1004 in a versahandler

Its got about 1800 hrs. Normally it runs fine but I parked it overnight and the next day... :(

No throttle response from a Perkins 1004 in a versahandler

I have a Bobcat V518 Versahandler with a bizarre fuel problem. Starts fine Idles fine It won't respond to the throttle at either the pedal or at the lever attached to the fuel injection pump. It just continues to idle at 750-1000 as you twist away at the pump lever. The lever travel action seems...

Changing the lever pattern on an old PC80-3

Ok, I'm stumped. I looked all over the machine, in the manual, in the operators guide but couldn't find how to change the pattern from SAE to ISO. The pattern is opposite to what its supposed to be in the manual and a simple hose swap won't work. Neither will fiddling with the linkage rods. 1986...
