    Purchasing an International HX620

You ever end up with one? I ended up running into issues with the Cummins on both. Oil leaks, and emissions sensors already. Traded them for the S13 powertrain models a few months back and the S13 is way better on fuel and so far no trouble. Rest of the truck is real nice.

    SANY long term owners/operators

So far I have not used it myself. Put the 3.3yd bucket on it that I had from the CX350D I traded in a while back and its doing within 150 tons per hour of the 50 ton machines. Uses about 1.5-2 gallons less per hour than the QSG12 Cummins Sany's. I wasnt looking for it. It was a deal that fell...

    SANY long term owners/operators

That has been my experience. Had a Kubota KH and a Daewoo Solar back when they were labelled cheap. Great machines I had no big problems from. Repowered both once and rebuilt everything on the Daewoo at least once in the 22k hours I put on it. Sold both last year still working fine just because...

    SANY long term owners/operators

Yes, the footage is complete. Company I have doing it is working on editing out all the sub contractors that don't want their presence on film. 30+ haul contractors and various others so taking longer than any of us would like :)

    SANY long term owners/operators

So far so good for an update. Been over 5 months using the two Sany SY500 excavators without issue. Over 1,000hrs each so far. Been able to keep them working 7 days a week since late February with only planned downtime for service. Guys like them and They have paid for themselves more than 5x...

Thoughts on 1099 vs W2 hires.

Yes, much was not elaborated upon as to not have a novel. With that said, im well aware of the line that differentiates an employee (W2) from a contractor (1099) and am within the law thanks to my wife who is an attorney. I refer to them as my guys because we are pretty much family because of...

Thoughts on 1099 vs W2 hires.

Looking to hear how other smaller companies like myself are finding the best way to treat their guys? I have a full time crew of 13 and I've found hiring them as 1099 workers is a better deal for both of us instead of W2. I went this way back when the "Unaffordable Care Act" kicked in and I...

    Advice please

I ended up with two JCB JS370 machines when I was in a pinch for equipment. Little bigger than the one you're looking at but most likely very similar in function and build. My guys liked them a lot for the clearing work I put them on. The machines only logged maybe 1,000hrs each before I traded...

The most entertaining "school me"thread... My 1st piece of H.E. Two 80ton Hoes

The concept of cutting up big iron for scrap is wonderful but the execution is a whole other story. For a one man show with no other equipment or much smaller equipment its just not safe or feasible to take the torch and start cutting a big giant down. Over my career developing land ive had to...

The most entertaining "school me"thread... My 1st piece of H.E. Two 80ton Hoes

Great read, hope everything is going smoothly for the guy. Definitely the largest machines ive seen on a residential lot owned by the homeowner but not by much lol. Plenty of 50 to 60 ton old worn out hoe's sitting on small farms 10 acre and under around me. You can pretty much get them for the...

Liebherr, Analysis of the Efficiency of Liebherr Power Efficiency (LPE) Technology on Hydraulic Excavators.

Thanks for the post! Having just purchased a good bit of Liebherr equipment I am very impressed with them. Unfortunately we are actually getting a winter this year so the equipment hasn't logged much time. Just speaking to the excavators, I have an R960SME that in size is a small 60 ton...

    GVW Questions

GVWR is just what its registered for and not the way you are thinking. Its not 14k plus the tongue/pin weight. Doesnt matter if its a semi with special seasonal limits as mentioned above (way to confuse the poor guy), every trailer has a GVWR thats the max legal weight allowed no matter if its...

Trying to start an excavating business

Glad to hear things are going well as of your last post. Just wanted to point out if you enjoy more of the clearing and road building work and would like to deal with larger projects, pursue land development as your main line of work. Land development can be as simple as rough clearing, access...

    Pipeline easement

Im in the states and im sure our experience will differ but if anything hire a land use attorney to guide you through negotiations. You need to sit down and brainstorm every possible effect this is going to have on your property and your personal, both current and future. As a land developer...

    CAT 304 or Bobcat E48?

From my experience as a customer the brand machine never mattered. Ill rent from the company that has an available machine in the size I need, when I need it. Buy the brand that best fits your business model. Bobcats on paper all seem to punch above their class but who is really going to...

    Favorite 7-8 ton excavator?

For the midi its the newest models, 2025 CX85E and CX90E. The mini's are a bit muddled with some D and E series being Sampierana going back to 2023.

    Favorite 7-8 ton excavator?

New CASE mini and midi machines are now Sampierana brand, made in Italy. Prior models were Hyundai for the mini (1-6) and Sumitomo for the midi (7-8).

    Purchasing an International HX620

I have two and so far so good. Mine are X15 with Allison as well. No long term experience though as mine are brand new with only a couple thousand miles. My guys really like the automatic. One is 545hp and the other is 515hp according to paperwork but they both operate alike. Have them tagged...

Komatsu KDC 614TA.... What's the story on this engine?

Try running that serial number as a Cummins. The Komatsu engines ive seen in person had a five digit serial number. One of my guys says the KDA614 is a Cummins L10 with a few specific Komatsu parts in the fuel system.

    PC600-7

Not my first-hand experience but for what it's worth I am friendly enough with many a contractor that runs Komatsu equipment and the reputation is great. These guys keep the machines a long time instead of trade into new ones out of fear of downtime on an older machine. Heed the advice above...
