Advice for welding repair of 4 in 1 bucket

I greatly appreciate all the advice and information. It’s definitely a substantial undertaking. The bolt on edge is possibly salvageable. I’ve been assessing the corrosion and it’s minimal.

Advice for welding repair of 4 in 1 bucket

Welder Dave, I appreciate the advice. Yes there is a cutting edge I unbolted (with the exception of one bolt I cut out) to get a proper photo and assess the extent of the corrosion/damage. I’ll ask around about abrasion resistant steel. I also understand this isn’t an easy job for an...

Advice for welding repair of 4 in 1 bucket

I appreciate it JL Sargent! I assume so with the salt. It was a forestry dept machine before I had my hands on it.

Advice for welding repair of 4 in 1 bucket

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I figured this was better than having multiple 4in1 repair threads: I need a little advice as to how one might repair this. Hire a guy doesn’t help me currently but I agree that’s the ideal option. I planned on cutting off the section that the blade mounts...

    What's your hoe doing?

This is true in America but rare in Europe. I use euro cylinders for all my locks as they’re way more secure for many reasons. Many double keyed locks also won’t allow someone to open the lock if a key is already in the interior side. This offers an extra piece of protection as you place your...

Possible hydraulic seal (valve?) or pressure problem on 310SE

Maybe it’s my ignorance but a painted over cylinder that doesn’t match any of the other cylinders tells me it was replaced or that’s what it looked like when they replaced cylinders at an outfit I worked for shortly.

Possible hydraulic seal (valve?) or pressure problem on 310SE

Hours on the machine 6000. It’s obvious some of the cylinders have been replaced over time. The hydraulic fluid level is where is should be. The fluid has a pink tint to it but it’s not cloudy or dark. The hydraulics (all of them) also seem to be a little stiff on the controls but they all...

Possible hydraulic seal (valve?) or pressure problem on 310SE

Please forgive my nomenclature and troubleshooting ignorance. I have a 310se that’s new to me. I left town for 4 days and came back to find the backhoe bucket resting on the ground from the extendahoe cylinder releasing pressure. Not sure what you call this…drooping? My first inclination was to...

    Trial by fire

After living on the water for a couple decades I returned to land and purchased a 310se Deere backhoe. I’m attempting to build a home on a densely forested lot and recently cleared the driveway and building site with a rented dozer and am now learning about the wonderful peanut butter clay in...
