    Heede Americana

Interesting, I didn't think there'd be too many on the east coast...typically it seems the old "clunkers" make their way west and then north and get dumped in my backyard! haha - The company I work for owns 4 of them, and another company in town owns another 4, I've never run one myself, and...

    International 4900 6x4

Thanks for the heads up Liehberr, I'm not entirely sure of the year of the unit...It looks to me like a mid 90's International Truck, if it was from a public utility the crane more than likely would have come from the truck. Therefore pegging it 1993-1997 range.

Who would buy an equipment video game?

If something was real, like someone said along the lines of Simcity, then hell I'd be into coughing up some cash for it, don't forget to include us nutbars that site up above a job site in a tower crane!... PS...if you want a hand, send me a PM, I'd be more than happy to lend a hand where I...

How do you think operators should treat equipment?

Ouch...I completely beg to differ on that one! I am one of the just said operators that was mentioned. I do not own my piece of equipment, but I treat it as if I did. I operate a tower crane that is owned by the developer with a sticker price of $500 000...its 4 years old and when I took it over...

tower pics from a scared "Q"

Oh come on guys! its not that big of a deal! - A solid steel structure, that if properly maintained, operated and inspected is perfectly safe! Sure we rock around a little from time to time up here, but hell its part of the rush, the charm, and the down and dirty fun of the job! - I had the same...

tower pics from a scared "Q"

Are you referring to free-standing, tied in or just higher ever on a building. If its the latter you'd be looking at the TC on the Burj Dubai...if you're talking freestanding, you'd be looking at somewhere in the 300 ft range, depending on make and model...

How sexy or rugged is your machine looking?

I don't own one...yet...but when I win the lottery, I'll buy one and erect it in the backyard just for fun, so I can play when I'm bored or need some TLC from the majestic "bird"...but everytime I see a Liehberr Tower Crane, I gotta admit, I get a little excited. The girlfriend gets mad, but...

    Unusual excavator

BrianHay would be best able to comment on these tight machines...www.spyderhoesolutions.ca I believe is his website, he owns a "sypderhoe" here on Vancouver Island. I have yet to check it out, but I'll be making a trip up to his home base to take a look, seems like an extremely versatile...

    New York Crane Saga...

I couldn't agree more with Buckethead AND AtlasRob... I think the important thing to remember in this situation is lawyers do tend to exaggerate and someone has to pay for what happened, unless one of us was there that day or an investigator I think in respect for our fellow riggers/crane...

    Howdy Ya'll

Its funny, in Calgary, where I got my start the crane world is very small, here it seems to be...another world! - Yeah, if you hear of anything, please let me know, my crane is down in a month and I'm starting to stress a little bit down...I guess UP here! hahaha Yeah...I'm on here, Vib...

Sweet, that'd be awesome! I will certainly take you up on that! - Best of luck on the camp job, I'm going to be searching for something camp related in the not so distant future, things aren't looking good in the Tower Crane industry, and like you said, get some money in the bank! - I had...
