Case 1840 was cranking over now just clicks

Yes it’s back up and running and the new starter spins over much quicker than the old one.

Case 1840 was cranking over now just clicks

I found a method that really helped installing it and maybe will help someone in the future. Anticipating putting it back in would be a challenge as you basically can only do it with one hand and the starter is quit heavy being in that akward position this is what I did. First I put the starter...

Case 1840 was cranking over now just clicks

Update: Shipping delay so my starter won’t be in til tomorrow but I took the time after work today to remove it. I have no other piece of equipment to lift the arms so I had to improvise on getting it out. I removed the seat and the left side panel where my heater switch is right next to the...

Case 1840 was cranking over now just clicks

Thank you, I went ahead and just ordered a starter that way I at least have it. I knew better to crank it for so long but it kept indicating it was going to start so this is on me. One thing I will say and the reason I replaced the battery because since I got it I always thought it cranked slow...

Case 1840 was cranking over now just clicks

First winter with this new to me skid steer and I went to start it today to push a little snow. It was around 25 degrees out and I’ve had it start before in the mid 30s but never tried this cold. It cranked over for almost a minute and almost started. I then decided to plug it in but only about...

Is this a sign of a bad injector?

This inline filter was hidden behind the motor and Fran and I frankly never knew it existed. I just replaced it and it seems to be running much better. Need more seat time but it’s night and day difference from this morning.

Is this a sign of a bad injector?

I did replace the fuel/water separator filter but just noticed there is an inline metal fuel filter as well. I’ll try that and look at fuel cap too. Thank you

Is this a sign of a bad injector?

I have a 2004 Lull 944e-42 with a 4 cylinder diesel engine. Once at operating temperature and you are closer to or at full throttle it will sputter, lose power and kick out a lot of white smoke with a faint bluish hue. It will not do it all the time as there is times I can use it the entire day...

Is my hydraulic oil too hot?

Just curious as I’m new to my Case 1840 as I’ve only owned it a few months. Last night I was working it a bit harder than usual. I had to climb out as it was running and placed my hand on one of the smaller steel hydraulic lines that go across from one lift cylinder to the other. I noticed it...

Case 1840c do I have a bad tilt cylinder?

Me too which is why I didn’t and in my last post said I got it to work again and reattached it. It’s been working good so far.

Case 1840c do I have a bad tilt cylinder?

Update: It is working again. I have a feeling when the pin first fell out the bucket could have pushed the rod up in to the cylinder, possibly causing it to be stuck. Like I said, it took a good amount of force to get it to move about the first half inch but then I could get it to move 3 inches...

Case 1840c do I have a bad tilt cylinder?

I’ll have a much better chance to look at tonight after work. Hopefully I just over reacted as it was a long day and the sun was about gone and I have no lighting in my Quonset shed. One thing I can assure it would not extend with the control lever. I pulled it down a few inches by hand and...

Case 1840c do I have a bad tilt cylinder?

Everything appears to be connected properly yes. I wouldn’t say it moves by hand with ease. If I put the pin in the cylinder end and twist while pulling on it (and it takes some grunt) I can get it to extend.

Case 1840c do I have a bad tilt cylinder?

Yes hoses are attached and nothing is leaking and I have full hydraulic fluid. I’m assuming just the left tilt cylinder is doing all the work and this right one is going along for a ride

Case 1840c do I have a bad tilt cylinder?

Okay thank you. I suppose only way to find out is to take it apart. My only issue is I absolutely need to finish grading this fill. Is there any further damage that can be done if I just reattach the cylinder and finish the job? Honestly this could have already been broke when I bought the...

Case 1840c do I have a bad tilt cylinder?

The cylinder moves in and out if I pull it out manually but doesn’t move when I use the controls.

Case 1840c do I have a bad tilt cylinder?

Removing some fill and grading for a concrete slab at home and suddenly the back drag felt very weak and noticed the tilting felt strange. The hydraulic filter light started blinking and sometimes would be solid a couple hours prior so I figured maybe I had a clog? I planned on getting a new...

    JLG 2033e won’t move

Found the issue. It was a bad jumper cable on one of the batteries. Apparently it draws way more amps to go forward than anything else. What was throwing me off was everything else worked fine besides drive. Decided to clean all connections and found a pretty bad corroded wire. I’ll get new...

    JLG 2033e won’t move

Recently acquired a JLG 2033e scissor lift and was working fine then stopped driving. It steers and goes up and down just fine but will not move. Batteries are at 100 percent. When I push the button to drive the green light indicator will immediately go out once I move the joystick and I have to...
