    Case 580C

1st gear, always use it to crawl around. I'll double check everything tonight and see what is going on. I don't think the pump is connected to the trans.

    Case 580C

I have a case 580c and I just rebuilt the engine and the hydraulic spools. For some reason when I get the backhoe stuck, I was able to use the front loader to back myself out. I have lost all power in the loader when the wheels are spinning in reverse. If I take it out of gear everything...

    Chevrolet C60 1973

Picked up a new to me Chevy C60 dump truck built in 1973. The only issue I see with the truck is the driver side king pin is worn and has chewed up the tire really bad. I went to napa and a few other parts stores and they only thing they can find is for a 1980 C60. I checked ebay real quick...

Case 580 4x4 loader backhoe - I know this is the model I want, not sure which variant

Strange thing is.. they only put the seal half way in. I talked to Dale about this and I just drove my seal all the way flush. When I measured my case580c, I had about 3 mm of room. So far I have had no leaks and put about 60 hours on it. Wonder why they did that.

    Pond Project Case 580

Hey all, no problems getting the cylinder fixed! Wasn't that bad really, I'm saving up work and I'm hoping to get a seal kit from Dale. Back to the pond... I sank the hoe pretty good. Rolled off the brush pile I had stacked up, was able to get out of it. If I rolled a foot more I would have...

    Rebuilding 580C cylinders

The gland has a double o-ring on the threaded side. The inside is the seal on the bottom. Depending on the year it could be the old v-seals or the plastic seals that expand when hydraulic fluid passes over them.

    JD 310 SG value

I think you'll do okay, takes time to find the right buyer. This is how I look at it, if you bought the machine and never did anything to it, sell it less for what you bought it for. If you bought the machine and put work into it, sell it more for what you bought it for. There is a good...

    Pond Project Case 580

Good idea with the glory hole! Yeah, there are four holes in the cap. Napa has the spanner tool. Hopefully I can get it to work, otherwise I may need to weld around a copper piece.

    Pond Project Case 580

Few questions, My first question is, I started a pond project on my property. There use to be a pond where I'm digging but the owner said it grew up and is now all razor grass and sludge. Everything was going great until I hit a spring, water started to gush out and then slowed down. I...

480C Case Backhoe Power Shuttle Install

I have a 580c that I just went through the power shuttle and had to put a leaking seal in. You want to do this all by hand, do not force anything or you will ruin the pump. I was able to lift the tranny out and in by myself. The unit is very small and probably weighs 100lbs or less. Once you...

    One big stump

After a few hours Saturday, I dug out some more for the concrete trucks to get into the pad to pour the foundation. We have some big red pines which I downed. Few hours with the hoe and I finally moved the stump out. I figured the front end loader would pick it up. With the 207D tach'd out...

    Rebuilding 580C cylinders

If it was me, I would just get new cylinders. I believe they're $700 a piece from case. Not sure about the hone, depends on how much room you have with the seals and what is stable for hydraulic pressure. For the dent, maybe weld a bolt on it and use a slide hammer to pull it out? If it...

    Concrete and PTO

Dad has a mixer from the 1970's, old Gilson with a Wisconsin engine. Looks like this; https://www.purplewaveauction.com/i/a/2012/20120313kdot/D8800.JPG I think it does about three yards or more. It's a brute. I'll take pictures of the excavation this weekend. Just not sure how I will get...

    Concrete and PTO

I think my plan is to just have concrete trucks show up, use the case loader and then dump that where needed. I cannot find a mixer the size I want.. they're out there but the cost is that of your own concrete truck. My issue is the foundation is in the side of a hill and will need a frost...

Long term effects of burying stumps

Or just leave them out and let them rot. I have a hole that is open, I throw stumps in there and they rot in 5 years or less. Of course these are pine stumps and not hardwood. Once the bacteria is on the stump it pretty much speeds the process. That and insects love these things. When...
