G..G..G..Granville.........!! Fetch your cloth.
I was thinking of somewhere along the lines of 48 hours after receipt of the sample by the lab, especially if it contained a "stop the machine right now because something's liable to go bang" recommendation. That would in all honesty merit a phone call to the customer IMHO.

Yes I agree, especially when the first results were to stop working the machine ASAP, this is very typical of front line and upper management of the DOT in my area, although their policy states active prevention, 99.9% is reactive prevention, the left does not know what the right is doing, on till my machines engine completely explodes, only then that they will panic and point fingers, on till that happens just keep running the machine, they couldn't care less, very sad.

I'm thinking your sample got lost in the shuffle somewhere or there is a report on someone's desk that they don't understand its importance. Oil sampling at Cat dealers is given a high priority and when things are late the lab managers will feel the heat in short order.

Very possible, all I can do is keep asking for the oil sample report, our mobile mech asked a Cat mobile Mech specialist for this area what his thoughts were on the bad oil sample and the shut down of the engine operation from Cat, he laughed and said it was just piston slap?? on his statement our mobile mech is ignoring Cats warning and told my supervisor to keep running the machine, I would think the oil testers at Cats lab would have seen enough bad results from oil samples to determine whether or not to justify issuing a stop working of the engine warning, IMHO

Hello everyone, I got the SOS results back from our mechanical branch on my 140h and all green for the results, no sign of the engine being on its way out, so that is good news, not sure why the first sample showed the rod bearings going out but maybe where the second sample only had 60 hrs on the oil it never showed up but there was metal in the filter at 60hrs, i'm do for another oil change at just about 250hr mark on oil, see what this sample shows this time. thanks
