If you want to dig into the history of John Fowler & Sons see if you can get hold of a copy of "The Story of the Steam Plough Works". It's a good read. A mate of my old man had both a pair of Fowler 10 NHP ploughing engines (and the ploughs to go with them) also a Fowler showman's road locomotive .... I think it was this one although it was a few years ago and the engine may well have changed hands since then.

Does anybody have any info about an Aveling-Barford Diesel roller, the model is desiginated as a GD series. We have one in our yard and I'm trying to find out more about it.
