1998 CAT IT28G Loader - 2nd Gear not working

I have a 1998 CAT IT28G loader S/N 8CR02242 , currently when you switch the machine into 2nd gear nothing happens (both forward and reverse), no noises, etc. All other gears work with no issues both in forward and reverse.

Any direction on where to start troubleshooting this issue?

Check the transmission oil colour and smell. It should be be a light straw colour and clear, not dark and cloudy with a burnt smell.

Next this you can do is drain the transmission oil then pull the magnetic suction screen which is in 2 parts behind a 3-bolt cover. Post photos of whatever you find.
